There is an attempted coup in Bolivia . The local publication El Deber writes that Murillo Square, where the country's government building is located, was occupied by the military.
The country's President Luis Arce reported on the "non-standard mobilization" of individual army units and called for respect for democracy. In turn, former head of state Evo Morales suggested that a coup d'etat with the participation of the military is possible in the country.
“We call for national mobilization to defend democracy against the backdrop of the coup led by General Juan José Zuniga,” he stressed.
The general himself said that the military intends to “regain their homeland.”
