The Curse of the Warped Book

Whilst investigating the death of a local painter, a hilarious cleaner called Jaguar Bloggs uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, warped book circulating throughout Wales. As soon as anyone uses the book, he or she has exactly 32 days left to live. The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look skeletal. A marked person feels like a snowy koala to touch.
Jaguar gets hold of the book, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into his mind: a derelict puppy balancing on a nippy painter, an old newspaper headline about a dancing accident, a hooded toad ranting about warts and a drinking well located in a sunny place. When Jaguar notices his spots have koala-like properties, he realises that the curse of the warped book is true and calls in his niece, a shopkeeper called Jocasta to help.
Jocasta examines the book and willingly submits herself to the curse. She finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. She finds the derelict puppy balancing on a nippy painter particularly chilling. She joins the queue for a supernatural death.
Jaguar and Jocasta pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded toad. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
