Pi Network is adding email-based two-factor authentication to the overall account management and verification.

This change addresses challenges with current SMS (text message) account verification, improves security, and lays the groundwork for future verification methods like passkeys and biometrics. To ensure a secure shift, system level analytics and checks were required to validate how Pioneers verify their accounts using the new method, which led to a temporary pause in migrations. Migrations have now resumed and will gradually expand. Read the full blog for more information about the update and how it benefits the network in the long term. https://minepi.com/blog/update-on-mainnet-migration-and-account-verification/

Pi Network has released two-factor authentication (2FA) for wallet confirmation that requires some Pioneers to complete 2FA using a trusted email before their Pi is successfully migrated to the Mainnet blockchain. This secures and confirms Pioneers’ Pi Wallets, supporting the security of Pioneers’ accounts and their Pi.

Certain Pioneers who migrated their Pi to Mainnet over the last few weeks—but are still within the 14 day pending period—will also need to complete 2FA; otherwise, their Pi will be securely returned to their mining app. After the completion of the 2FA, their same balance will get migrated again.

Beware of fake Pi listings on various DEXs. It is important to note that Pi trading pairs currently listed on all DEXs are fraudulent and are likely to be part of a scam which results in loss to you. Pi Network strongly recommends that you refrain from participating in any current DEX trading pairs. If you choose to proceed, despite this warning, you run the risk of being defrauded, receiving fake Pi and losing your money. Please refer to the KYB’d services page on the Pi official website for verified businesses that integrate with Pi. We recommend that you only engage with businesses listed on this page. https://minepi.com/kyb-list/#VerifiedBusinesses

Essential reminder as we get closer to Open Network:
It is important for Pioneers to safeguard their Pi account and watch out for potential bad actors and activities, scams, and individuals impersonating others. Neither Pi Network, nor anyone affiliated with Pi Network, has any affiliation whatsoever with any parties organizing or engaging in such illegal or harmful activities to our users or the community. Any such activities which seek to charge users money or make false and misleading promises of monetary rewards or future profits, or MLM are unauthorized by Pi Network—Pi is free to mine and has never been for sale.
