In other news, something strange happened today when an X account with the handle @Adolf_gov and username “Adolf Hitler”, having no profile picture and only a light blue cover photo, was granted a verified Grey (official government) Checkmark, only minutes before the account was redesignated (in both the handle and username) as belonging to Frank Walter Steinmeier, the current President of Germany.

The account bio lists itself as a Make Germany Great Again account, a proponent of decentralization of financial markets, and lauds the ideology of nazism throughout the posts on the profile’s feed.
