Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's government, the Israeli army has occupied 435 square kilometres of Syrian territory, including two strategic areas: Mount Hermon, from where Israeli forces can control and monitor thousands of Syrian and Lebanese targets in case of future incursions against Hezbollah positions. The second is the Al-Wehda Dam and with it control of the flow of the Yarmouk River, the Jordan's first tributary and an important source of water for southern Syria. ๐ธ๐พ๐ฎ๐ฑ
