*So let not one of you spit facing the Qiblah*
On the authority of Anas bin Mālik that the Prophet ﷺ saw phlegm on the Qiblah, so it became difficult upon him until it was seen in his face, so he stood up and scraped it off using something with his hand, so he said: "Verily if one of you stands in Salāh, he is having a private talk with his Lord, or verily his Lord is between him and the Qiblah, so let not one of you spit facing the Qiblah, but rather to the left or under his foot", then he took the corner of his shawl and spat in it and rub it together and said: "Or he does like this."
Shaykh Yahya, may Allāh preserve him, said:
"And the Nafath (blowing with slight spittle):
If he spits he leans to his left a bit, then spits, he doesn't spit facing the Qiblah, even if you spit in a tissue, what is more preferred is that you take a tissue and direct (to the left) a bit a then spit in it, or wipe your mouth with it for example, so that you don't resemble those who spit facing the Qiblah, regardless being that it is in a tissue, this is what is more preferred due to the generality of the evidence..."
