Let we talk about an important topic that is hidden by social network suggestions / for you feeds and low usage of the users. This happens everywhere, no matter if TikTok or YouTube or whatever. Let we consider for example channels with over 1000 subscribers. What we can see?
There are around 10 million channels with more than 1000 subscriber (probably now even more). Now let we compare to the total amount of people on our planet. We could exclude Africa with 1200 mio, but we don't do that, because there are still influencers from Africa too! even if not all people have Internet or whatever ...
Around 60% https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/SP.POP.1564.TO.ZS are "adults" (15-64J), without using exact data. We are in 8000 mio on this planet, this means 4800 mio adults. Already that related to the previous value is 0.2% of all YouTube small channels. If we consider those with 10k, then just 0.04% (means 1 person every 2400!) and more subscribers you wish, more the situation is getting worse (100K is 0.007%, 1 mio is 0.0007%). If we consider that such 10k channels are created just by a single country, we get the following stats: In France there are around 40 mio adults, means 5% of all YouTubers or 1 person each 20, for Brazil 1% (always with 10k subscribers)! This obviously is not the reality, because we are forgetting to consider all other countries. https://ourworldindata.org/age-structure
Obviously not all countries in the world are active in the same way, same for each person (just think the previous study we shared, where 50% said they don't use Twitter at all, and this just as consumer, not creator...). Plus we need to consider that there are many topics, so such stats % get even smaller if we check only specific categories.
