Police in Kisii South on Friday nabbed a consignment of bhang valued at Ksh.4.2 million along the Kisii-Isebania road.
Confirming the incident, Kisii County Acting Police Commander Isaac Kimwele said that members of the public informed their officers about the 148kg consignment believed to be from the porous Isebania border.
The driver of the car that was ferrying the drugs was arrested after a dramatic chase along the stretch.
"The car was heading to Kisii. Our officers swung into action and they intercepted the motor vehicle. They managed to arrest one occupant and revered four bags of bhang weighing 148 kilograms with a street value of Ksh.4.2 million,"
"The accused is in custody pending arraignment." Kimwele said.
Police have urged members of the public to be on high alert on matters narcotics especially during the festive season.
