Vegan recommendations by 🇨🇭Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office FSVO
Not because we are swiss, but because the swiss paper has:
1) almost 260 sources
2) get such topic more in details (67 pages!), even if not super details in some points (but they even write that too!)
3) consider the topic in a more open way
4) they listen to what new studies are saying
5) they don't just consider a single nation and they provide better analysis of such data (but like we said swiss vegan had 30.8 ± 7.6 years, not 18-50, which is the recruiting criteria ...). We haven't checked all other studies now.
6) like we said previously cited studies by Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics ignored men, kid and elderly protein intake (or they did it just partially). As you can see in the table, most studies just checked adults (but remember point 5. about recruiting criteria, we haven't checked now ....).
About the Not Recommended we can just say "next time try to consider even other options, like ⅓ Vegan Diet, ⅔ Vegan Diet and not just 0% or 100% like "Die Militante Veganerin" is doing". This is a problem with the researchers, because if they don't do that (some did that), is difficult to get recommendation for a ⅓ - ⅔ vegan diet too. At the end like we wrote about the ketogenic diet (not related to vegans now...) in our thesis, there are various ways to do a keto diet (keto studies started to consider such option). Even the planet would be happy if people maybe start to eat a ⅓ vegan, instead of nothing, but again protein != protein and ø != all population. So age, disease, etc. need always be considered.
No idea if Beatrice Baumer is vegan or not, we know that she is a teacher at ETHZ and ZHAW, same for Roger Darioli (UNIL + vice at SSN), Oswald Hasselmann or Pascal Müller (both pediatricians in St.Gallen)
