β €β €β €β €β €The first, which is in fact romance relatedly, is the conception that falling in profound appreciation is inherently painful. In other words, at some point during a relationship there will ineluctably be some type of heartbreak.

And that philosophy does marginally come through in the chorus where the addressee, who we can postulate is a romantic interest of the vocalist’s, is being presented as someone who cannot overcome her less-than-ideal past, or something like that. The music of Cigarettes After Sex invokes not only the potent feelings of euphoria innate in the band’s name itself, but somehow manages to reconstitute emotions found only in the most romantic of movies; immersive, achingly nostalgic, exhaustively conveying, and profoundly visual. It’s these potent and unique qualities which have enabled the profound appreciation musical compositions of Cigarettes After Sex to reverberate across countless countries, and enthuse the most devoted kind of following.

β˜…β€Œ β˜…β€Œ 𝕿onight is the night I have to fight a quiet ammonite under the weak light its tear is a tide in the iolite time is a victim lost its own right tonight is the night I have to fight nobody guides me a stray kite polite words are eight mega bytes useful way to hide for hypocrite tonight is the night I have to ride cut through the night with bloody bite the nucleotides were synthesized renewing myself for next sight tonight is the night I won’t hide I smite the darkness for the light β€˜lux aeterna’ the shower is white photons sing to give a flight Millions of stars and trillions of its comets how I can be poor in this world? even if I became a shiny stardust when I walked out through a solid steel portal to see the night sky It was the last night before I left for the final time I took a seat on something meant for someone else moored for another day I look up to witness the expanse in its full glory the milky way shines like a belt of long forgotten signals stars that might have taken their last breath by now messages I might unwittingly be the last to receive I realize I will probably be gone by the time anybody will notice the absence of the moon is when the stars put on their best show the ones oppressed with the least effort finally given a chance to be seen from a jealous sun leaving a small reminder of it’s presence I smile lost in the wonder of it all recalling nights spent on tall grass.

β˜…β€Œ β˜…β€Œ 𝕾hadowed by the sun, the sky's favorite child dazzling the eyes of all making hearts run wild. Though I am like the moon now coldly distant and unseen, I watch the life of the favored sun wish that love was meant for me. Though reflections of achievements paint me in a favored light, it's hard to meet the expectations of those who think you'll be just as bright Favored son, hidden moon. Isn't that how the stories go? relegated to the lonely night a life of living in shadows. When the shy moon sings all the golden stars shimmer across the turquoise oceans an incandescent cloud ballet begins to draw mermaids and dolphins in to view the eclipse of the night a rose out of paradise fades Upon the grey and blue canvas a thousand eyes look up archipelago cathedral goddess globe in satiny light irridescent pearl turns his face like a silent maiden, smiles earth's shadow echoes his name orion dances with libra daughters northern hemisphere arias that neptune and pleiades heed gemini, scorpio and leo arrive venus, mercury and mars to see the shy moon hide under the table of stars. Creeping back to my sleeping house, sitting silently in my bed, can't close my eyes, how can I live one more day in my reality, when every night I meet another world.

β˜…β€Œ β˜…β€Œ 𝕿he spotlight is all we want all the moon can do is haunt standing there in white like the stage struck lovers like the moon sick look way beyond the pale deathly shade and baleful out of heart and failing Last night was clear and black moon was on the rise again wome says its sphinx like Hope the mystery remains you wax full for a month give them what they want that’s all some cry for but others know and don’t roll back my eyeball White at the blind spot all clear and crystal like light trapped in a bottle It's Sunday night in may a spot in the sky dusky red falling into earth's shadow the blood moon darkened my third eye bled a lovely lunar eclipse. I heard a noise in the middle of the night, pitch black outside with no flashlight. I was awake and out before the birds began singing, except the owl and the wind, a silent evening. Dancing on an empty slightly lit street, laughing quietly on the chilly beach, I wait for the first ray of light, not the red and orange glow but the white. It appears behind dark clouds, the brightest of all the stars, it calls for me to follow, to watch over him until tomorrow. When my eyes begin to shut, the morning cold bites into my skin, my fingers digging in the damp sand, as fire floods the light purple sky. The seagulls take the lead, they shout to wake the world once more, so I walk as one of them and scream, my feet still numb in the water. I smile up at the trees flowing with the wind, and just like that the world goes back to normal, as I hear the distant sound of running cars. I say goodbye to the stars. See you again tonight.
