The line chart details unemployment figures in three regions – the UK, EU, and Japan – (over a 14-year-period) between 1993 and 2007. Overall, of the three regions in question, none recorded an unemployment rate over 12 percent. The situation with unemployment significantly improved in the EU and UK, while the percentage of the jobless population in Japan was consistently lower, despite doubling over the period. These changes reflect a shift in labor market dynamics within these regions.

Unemployment in the UK was the highest at 11% in 1993. This figure declined drastically over the following eight years to hit a low of 5%, where the rate stabilized for four years, before slightly recovering to 6% in 2007. In summary, the UK witnessed a notable improvement in employment, as the proportion of the unemployed demographic nearly halved over the span.

The first four years came with the growing rate of unemployment for the EU from 9% in 1993 to 11.5% in 1997. Nevertheless, the unemployment in this region fell gradually for the rest of the period, coming down all the way to approximately 7.5%. It’s worth noting that in 2007, the EU had the highest unemployment level in the group of three.

Unlike the other two, Japan’s unemployment stood at just 2% in 1993, prior to climbing 3% in 1995 and maintaining this figure until 1999. This figure further rose, doubling to 6% by 2003, the highest rate observed in Japan within this period. By 2007, though, there had been a downtick to 4%, meaning that Japan remained as the region with the lowest unemployment

The maps show how the town centre has been transformed since 1990. Overall, the town centre has witnessed substantial alterations, with a greater emphasis on navigating convenience and safety for pedestrians. Zebra crossings have been painted for safety and bollards have been installed to restrict the Smith street to pedestrian access only, driven by an increased traffic flow today. Other infrastructure changes include a consolidation of various stalls into a single shopping mall, and conversion of two-storey houses into apartment blocks to accommodate a growing population. Less prominently, what used to be a bank to the east of the town has been repurposed as a cafe.

In 1990, the town centre lacked essential traffic regulations and all four streets – Newton, Smith, Green, and Oldfield – could be freely accessed by vehicles. Smith street, in the north of the map, featured a row of four shops (Newsagent’s, grocer’s, baker’s, butcher’s) alongside a cafe. Adjacent to these shops was a childcare centre. Additionally, across from the childcare centre, the library was located, flanked by a Town hall and a park. To the south, in Green street, there were a row of seven houses, with an extra house to the east, just beyond Oldfield street. This street also was the home to two banks positioned opposite to each other: one in the northeast and the other directly below it.

By contrast, several key changes are in place today. Various types of shops on Smith street have been consolidated into a single shopping mall, while the childcare centre,Town hall, Library, and park have been retained. Currently, Smith Street is prohibited from vehicles’ entrance with the help of bollards, possibly with a view to prevent noise and air pollution that might affect the experience of park and library visitors. Meanwhile, houses in the Green and Oldfield streets have been turned into apartment blocks. Pedestrian safety has also improved with the addition of zebra crossings on Green and Oldfield Streets, making it safer to travel between the apartments, Town Hall, and the newly established café.

Well, back in 2018, one of my close friends suggested watching a highly-anticipated fight between two of the best lightweights at the time. Although I was kind of reluctant to do so, after watching the fight I came to the realization that one day I am going to try my hand at MMA. MMA is a dynamic combat sport that combines techniques from various martial arts, including boxing, wrestling, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, and kickboxing. It’s not only about physical strength but also requires a high level of skill, strategy, and mental toughness. The UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) is the largest MMA organization, featuring elite fighters from around the world who compete in an octagon-shaped cage. Watching UFC fights has been a thrilling experience that sparked my interest in trying this sport. The first time I watched a UFC event, I was amazed by the level of athleticism and discipline displayed by the fighters. It was a championship match held in Las Vegas, and even though I watched it on TV, I could feel the energy of the crowd, it was so palpable and the intensity of the fight was second to none. What impressed me most was how the fighters had to use a variety of techniques to gain an advantage, from striking to grappling on the ground. It’s not just a test of strength but a blend of technical mastery and mental resilience. I find the idea of training in MMA fascinating because it challenges the body and mind. It would be an opportunity to learn self-defense, improve fitness, and develop mental discipline. While the sport is intense, I think the challenge of mastering such a diverse skill set would be incredibly rewarding and nothing short of amazing.

Describe a course that impressed you

Describe a course that impressed you

1. I am describing an online programming course, that is specifically targeted learning how to code on Phython, one of the most versatile programming languages today — in fact, it was used to build such big websites as Facebook or games like Minecraft.

2. It is something I am planning to study for personal development, but also to some money on freelance once I get a better grasp of it.

3. The course I am eyeing is taught by Mosh Hamedani, who's been involved in this for over 20 years or so, and the trial videos already quite impressed me. The way he explains the concepts in such a structured and yet plain way is something that other courses out there lack.

4. The classes are pre-recorded and can be accessed only through a specific platform, to which I'll be provided log in details and a password, once I pay the required fee.

5. My plan to take this course wasn't really spontaneous, and I am not intending to start everything from scratch, because I have solid background on other languages like C++, C-sharp, and whatnot.

6. One of the perks that I am looking into is an opportunity to have group discussions with people all over the world who have similar goals and interests as me. I mean, It'd be amazing to build this network, and have an ability to exchange ideas on different matters. I believe that's how innovation is brought to life.

7. What's more, the course is not plain boring theory, but for the most part, consists of hands-on practice. Mr. Hamedani will be redirecting real clients to us, and we'll have made our first bucks by the end of the course, wonderful isn't it?

8. I am thinking maybe if I'll be able to master the language, and get the most out of these classes, the knowledge I hold is going to bring me whole a lot more opportunities for flexible work. Much better than being stuck behind the desk in a 9-to-5 job.

Describe an interesting song

1. I am gonna tell you about the Russian song called Tyomnaya noch, sung by an unknown soldier during World War 2;

2. So, I am not really sure on the specific genre it can relate to, but I guess it's a traditional piece.

3. Basically, the song is about a soldier in the battlefield, in the cold, dark night, sitting in trenches, and thinking about his loved ones, especially his wife. It is filled with sorrow and makes you stop for a while to listen to it.

4. I first heard this song on YouTube. It just randomly came up on my YouTube feed, and because I understand Russian, I could tell that this song is so much meaningful, unlike many musical pieces today where they sing absolute nonsense.

5. My first impression was like 'Hmmm, that's deep...' you know what I am saying. I replayed it couple of times, because I was working and it did a great job helping me stay concentrated.

6. Even today, when I am in a reflective mood, I tend to play it from my playlist, and just sit there in solitude thinking how cruel world can be.

7. You know, all those wars, victims, innocent people, ... That's sad! and I think this song was produced to boost people's morale who at the time were feeling lonely and hopeless.

8. The part where the singer sings 'I know you aren't asleep, sitting over a cradle with tears on your face' is so heartbreaking, and as a married man myself, I understand that if I were to go to war, my household would experience the same thing.

9. I shared this song on my blog, and wrote a reflection post below it. You know, people are bombarded with FUN content on the internet today, and some contemplation wouldn't do any harm.

10. So, yeah, this song is quite interesting because it manages to balance the harshness of war and tenderness of love and hope, going on to show that even at tough times, small things like music and dance can save people's hopes and help continue living no matter what.

A crisp version:

The line graph illustrates the percentage of Australian exports to four countries—Japan, the US, China, and India—from 1990 to 2012. Overall, while the share of exports to China and India increased significantly, exports to Japan and the US followed a downward trajectory. Despite the decline, Japan remained the largest market for Australian exports for most of the period, only to be overtaken by China in the final years.

Focusing on countries with rising export shares, India recorded consistently low figures throughout the period. Starting at approximately 2%, exports to India grew gradually to a peak of about 9% in 2010 before falling back to 5% by 2012. By contrast, China experienced an exceptional rise, with its share climbing from a mere 2.5% in 1990 to a peak of roughly 28% by the end of the period, surpassing Japan in 2007 to become Australia’s largest export destination.

In contrast, Japan and the US exhibited declining trends. Japan, the leader for over 15 years, saw its share of Australian exports fall from just above 25% to around 18% by 2012. Meanwhile, exports to the US fluctuated at around 10% until 2000, after which they declined steadily, reaching a low of 5% in 2012

The line graph provides information on the proportion of Australian exports to four different nations, namely Japan, the US, China and India, between 1990 and 2012. Overall, while the share of Australian exports to the US and China experienced a decline, albeit to varying degrees, the opposite trend was observed in Japan and India. Notably, although there has been a decline, the percentage of Australian exports to Japan remained the highest for the majority of the observed period. However, in the last five years, this trend shifted as China surpassed Japan, becoming the leading destination for Australian exports.

Regarding countries which showed increases in the share of exports from Australia, India consistently recorded the lowest figures. Standing at an all-time low of approximately 2%, the figure for this country increased gradually to hit its peak of about 9% before falling to finish at 5% in 2012. China, in contrast, experienced a much bigger growth. This country saw its proportion of Australian exports increase from a meager 2.5% to a chart-high of roughly 28 percent, surpassing Japan as the nation to which Australian export figures were the highest.

The remaining two countries followed the opposite trajectories. Japan, in spite of being the leader in terms of Australian exports throughout 15 or so years, saw a significant decline from just above 25% to around 18%. In comparison, the figure for the US was somewhat erratic, hovering at around 10% until the 2000s, when it went down to its low of 5% by 2012.

Having someone to look up to and learn from is really important. They can be a role model who inspires us to be our best and deal with life's challenges. One popular person who I truly admire is Khabib Nurmagomedov. He is one of, if not the greatest MMA fighter of all time. I became an avid fan of Khabib Nurmagomedov when he fought with McGregor, back in 2018, when he was at the zenith of his career. I remember that day as if it were yesterday. And the fight was just a barn burner. From start to finish, Khabib showed his dominance and didn't leave a single chance to Conor. Since then, I've followed his career closely, and he keeps impressing me on and off the octagon. What makes Khabib so special and earns my respect is how hard he works at what he does. He trains a lot, stays in great shape, and never gives up. His journey from a young talent to a global star shows the value of working hard and not giving up on your dreams. Judging from his record, 29-0, is so impressive, even to this day. In the bloodiest sport out there, he never got cut and never had a black eye. If you think about it for a while, it is nothing short of amazing. Another thing I admire about Khabib is how well he handles pressure. Whether it's a big fight, an important tournament, or tough times in his personal life, his father's death, he stays strong and focused. His ability to bounce back from setbacks and keep performing at a high level shows how important it is to stay tough when life gets hard. Khabib Nurmagomedov's hard work, determination, and ability to stay strong under immense pressure make him not only a UFC legend but also someone who inspires many, including myself. His journey reminds us that with determination and never giving up, we can achieve great things in our lives.
