Can a song make you dance? And if it can, does its ability to make you dance help you appreciate it more as music? Does it define your understanding of what music is?

- We often associate music with different feelings and emotions, light, heavy, lasting, fleeting, even emotions that come heavier than the suitcase of the random lady you helped in the street. We’re reminded of experiences we once had or the dreams we wish to have. We make memories and even children to some. We associate music with something personal, and it’s easy to do so when we’re sympathetic to the performer or the words coming out that express their feelings and awaken the same ones inside us. To understand classical music, we could try understanding the significance of how we perceive and appreciate music.

There’s almost nothing shorter than our attention spans, well there’s me, but then there’s our attention spans. Yes. I’m short. Wait! I mean, we have short attention spans. Why bring this up? Well, as part of my first #DownTheRabbitHole series, I bring up #ClassicalMusic, which is, amongst some, if not most, contemporary and avid pop music listeners, thought to be boring and rumbles in the background of their long nights of sleep or study. Hopefully, by the end of this incubation series, that might change.
