Vocal isolation/enhancement apps
I do subtitling work for a show recorded live in casinos and narrated via voiceovers, and need an app to isolate/enhance voices for when I can’t catch what’s being said. I already have an app to slow down the video, I just need something to isolate voices, be it the music soundtrack or the secondary live audio feed that picks up side conversations, mic announcements, background chatter, etc. Thanks in advance.

Best screenshot erase tool?
I'm working with CleanshotX but it is missing the feature that you can erase content so only the background is still visible. For this I use ShottR but sometimes it just makes ugly lines and does not get the job done. Any lightweight screenshot alternative for this single feature other than Shottr?

Thanks!

Timer app to open a minimized window?
I'm looking for any app (or method) that will open a minimized window (of another app) at set intervals (or times). Is there such a thing?

GPS for MacOS?
Hello friends.
I'm wondering if it is possible to find a USB GPS device, that would allow a MacBook Pro to get accurate location information, for instance for use with Google Maps. I'm a new location and would like to explore, and it would be a better experience if my MacBook could locate itself the way my iPhone does.
For instance, this device is listed as Mac compatible. Has anyone tried something like this, or does it mean that you need to use dedicated software?
Thanks for any answers.

Flashcards app
What's a good, nice-looking and preferably free app for studying with flashcards? I've only been able to find Anki, but I feel like its design hasn't changed since 2008.

Which password manager do you recommend with apple autofill?
I'm going to switch from dashlane to strongbox but strongbox is a bit messy, I want to know if there is any other alternative with apple autofill.

App to auto-copy files to cloud storage like quicksand?
I used to use an awesome little app called Quicksand to keep a running copy of the, say, the 15 most recently used files to dropbox, but it hasn't been updated in years and no longer works. Anyone know of an alternative that can be configured to copy recent items and other select files to cloud storage automatically?
My particular use case is that I have database files for alfred, zotero (reference manager), and scrivener (doctoral writing+references), which don't always play nice if stored in a cloud-synced folder. To avoid any possibility of errors, corruption, or loss, it would be much nicer to have copies backed up there whenever these are updated or at a particular frequency.
I'm curious if Hazel might be able to do this, but especially if there are other options.

App that searches pictures for buzz words and marks them which is easy accesibly (shortcut/menubar?)
Hello,
I currently use file cabinet and Pasty with Alfred and Pastebot to have a good clipboard/file drag and drop system. The only thing that's missing is that I need an app that I can put pictures in and I search the for buzzwords (which get marked). Ideally something that I can trigger fast per drag and drop. Is there anything out there?
Reason: So as a Med student often you have tons of pdfs and sometimes a screenshot is a whole DIN A4 paper long with lots of Info. Sometimes you search for specific term to re-read something but it takes like forever to find that passage. Just wondering if there is anything like that out there for example make a screenshot, activate the tool and you can search the whole Screenshot for words which gets highlighted.

Pasty for example has the ability (after taking a screenshot) that I can type in a buzzword and it's searching all the screenshots for text, but it is not highlighted.

Thanks in advance!

Always visible side-panel with tracking apps

I’m looking for an app or a configuration/workflow tip to solve a specific issue I have at work.
Ideally what I think would be useful is a sidepanel section with small windows of apps I need to see at all times.
Imagine the widgets pane, but they’re always on and they have actual small app windows to track or jot down something.
It’s a bit like the side-panes in obsidian where you can put whatever you want visible and that portion of the screen is always reserved.

If there’s no app to solve this use-case, what are you guys similar setups for a similar usecase. My goal is to have Obsidian daily note, tracker like clockify, pomodoro and todos on there.
I will look into apps like workspaces as well to have a configuration setup of window layouts, but I use 5-10 desktops between monitors so I need something which will be always in front.

Context/What I’m trying to fix:
I’m trying to find a solution on getting myself to be more mindful and keep me on track while I’m working. I get multiple ad-hoc tasks throughout the day, questions on team chat apps and meeting calls. From those occasions I get a blaring question I need to figure out and go in a rabbit-hole hunting for non-priority things, which can most likely lead to new things until I find my way back to what’s priority, hopefully sometimes.

Will Parallels work on basic Mac Mini M1
I know that this thing has only 8GB of RAM, but Mac software optimization positively struck me not once, so maybe? I want to run Windows 10 because 11 is a failure IMO.
My questions are:
1. Will it even run? I don't want gaming, I need Jetbrains Rider and Visual Studio.
2. After installation, will it slow down the daily operation even if I am not running the software (Hello VMWare)??

macOS Apple to run script before/after going to sleep?
I used to have this app called "Scenario" on the Mac App Store that allowed me to run an Apple Script before going to sleep and after waking up. I need this function to mute/unmute my computer speakers, because otherwise they'd get very hot and produce an annoying hissing sound.
However, this app "Scenario" was pulled form the Mac App Store. I haven't been able to find any alternatives. Does anyone here have any suggestions? Thanks!

In Raycast is there a way to find a file without specifying that I'm looking for file first?
That's the thing that annoys me the most in Raycast. In spotlight i can just type file name and the resuts just pop up on a screen. It shows the results by local files, internet search, dictionaries etc. In Raycast I have to specify that I'm looking for a file and then type it's name. It's a productivity killer for me. Is it a way to set it up to work like spotlight?

Slide in-out animation for apps
Is there a way to get selected apps to slide in and out of the screen side (similar to how Slidepad works for websites)? I found an app called Tuck which does this, but its in need of more work.
