“And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.”

Ohio: A police officer was rushed to the hospital and twelve people were arrested during a local university’s student-led St. Patrick’s celebration in Dayton.

As reported on News Center 7 at 5, during the celebration at the University of Dayton, police were dealing with out of control crowds.

Police said at one point, uncooperative crowds on Lowes Street forced them to use “chemical munitions”, which can include things like pepper spray and tear gas.

Later that night on Brown Street, officers were attempting to disperse a large crowd when shots were fired, according to Dayton police.

One suspect, identified as Elijah Murph-Heard, ran into the street in front of an officer.

The officer attempted to stop Murph-Head by knocking him down. The collision caused the officer to flip off their bike and be injured.

Please join us in sending prayers and, or, positive thoughts for his recovery. 🙏🏻

Weekly Credit Card Update!

Pilot program with 16 agencies to audit unused/unneeded credit cards. After 3 weeks, >200,000 cards have been de-activated.  Great progress this past week by @HHSGov @Interior

As a reminder, at the start of the audit, there were ~4.6M active cards/accounts, so still more work to do.

Prayers for the Portsmouth Police officer who was shot in the line of duty tonight. 🙏🏻

Virginia: Around 8 p.m., officers were called to a “potential domestic hostage situation” after receiving a tip from another, unnamed police department, according to an emailed news release.

When they arrived at the scene, officers knocked on a door to a home in the 80 block of Pepperwood Place, police said. That’s part of a large apartment complex off Towne Point Road in the Churchland section of the city, north of the Western Freeway.

During the encounter, the suspect opened the door and fired a single shot, striking the officer,” police said in the release.
After the shooting, officers retreated and established a perimeter while waiting for backup, police said.

The suspect — who was not identified — was taken into custody without further incident. No officers fired their weapons, police said.

Medics took the injured officer to a local hospital.

NEW: Columbia professors are canceling classes in solidarity with violent Syrian national Mahmoud Khalil.

This is absurd. Students and taxpayers aren’t funding professors to take the day off and play activist—they’re paying for an education. When will they learn?

NEW: The man the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said shot two officers has an extensive criminal history and was wanted on 10 warrants and four orders for arrest across two counties.

CMPD identified the man as 28-year-old Reggie Knight. A CMPD officer shot and killed Knight on Friday night after CMPD Chief Johnny Jennings says Knight shot two officers. Both officers are expected to be okay.

According to Chief Jennings, CMPD was attempting to arrest Knight on Friday at a home on Headquarters Farm Road in University City.

“This is somebody we have been looking for,” Jennings said.

This is the second time in less than a year that officers came under fire in Charlotte while attempting to serve a warrant. In April, 8 officers were shot, and four died while attempting to serve a warrant in east Charlotte.

“You just have to continue to learn be more vigilant,” Chief Jennings said. “It’s unfortunate, but some people want to respond by using deadly force.”

Michigan State Police released aerial footage of a pursuit involving a reckless driver in a Dodge Charger that reached speeds over 100 mph before crashing.

The incident unfolded over the weekend when MSP Trooper 2 tracked the Charger speeding northbound on Van Dyke. The driver, with four passengers inside, was seen weaving through traffic, running without headlights, and even crossing into oncoming lanes.

The driver nearly crashed several times before finally losing control at 11 Mile and Hoover. After hitting the median, the suspects inside the vehicle attempted to flee but were quickly surrounded and arrested by ground units.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Rest in peace to one of our heroes, Commander Anthony McClain, who passed away after suffering a heart attack on duty.

He was a 27 year veteran of the Metro Nashville Police Department and served our country in the U.S. Air Force.

May his life and service never be forgotten. The FBI will offer our full support to his family and colleagues on whatever is needed.

We took our brothers DJ and Deandre Daniel to #BootBarn to pick out new cowboy hats for #RodeoHouston’s Grand Entry. As we were looking, Joe Hagaman from #Hatco came over and told them they could have anything they wanted - their dad included. They all walked away with brand new Stetsons.
