There is no reason to ever stop lifting short of a horrible life changing injury. I initially started lifting because of a back injury that nothing else helped. Stronger core and no more back pain. I've had 3 other injuries, knee, hand, and elbow (none from lifting). Through all of it I've found a way to lift something and recover quickly. Alot of it's mental, don't let an injury get the best of you.
