Lately it seems as if the legal irregularities in the US prosecution of Mr. Julian Assange continue to be brought to light. Assange is imprisoned in HMP Belmarsh for publishing information in the public interest - information that embarrassed the US government. On January 4, 2021, a UK judge (Vanessa Baraitser) denied the US extradition request stating that it would be oppressive to extradite Assange to the US given his poor mental health status and the barbarity of the US prison system.
