🔹Areas of Cupping:

Anas ibn Maalik (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was treated with cupping three times on the two veins at the side of the neck and the base of the neck. (Abu Dawood & ibn Maajah)

Abdullah ibn Abbas (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was cupped on his head (Bukhari).

Abdullah ibn 'Umar (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to cup his head and would call it (i.e. the place at the top of the head)"Umm Mugheeth" (Saheeh al-Jaami' - 4804)

Jabir ibn Abdullah (RAA) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was treated with cupping on his hip for a pain in that area (Abu Dawood)

Anas ibn Maalik (RAA) narrated that the Messenger ﷺ was treated with cupping when he was in Ihram at the top of his foot for a pain in that area (Abu Dawood).

Ibn al-Qayyim (RA) said, “Cupping under the chin is beneficial for pain in the teeth, face and throat if it is done in the correct way and during the proper times. It also purifies the head and the jaws.

Cupping on the top of the foot is a substitution for the puncturing of the Saphena, which is a large vein in the heel. It is beneficial for treating ulcers that occur on the thighs and calves, the interruption of menses and skin irritation on the testicles.

Cupping at the bottom of the chest is beneficial for the treatment of sores, scabies and mange on the thighs. It helps against gout, hemorrhoids, elephantiasis and itchiness on the back." (Zaad al-Ma'aad) 🔹

🔹Hijaamah has no side effects as long as performed properly, and it is worth noting that about 70% of diseases or disorders are caused by the failure of the correct blood circulation around the body. Furthermore, we get sick when our body is loaded with toxins and other impurities. Unless harmful toxins are removed from the body or from the blood, not only do we not recover fast from the disease but we also become easy victims to other diseases.

We should never forget that this highly useful and recommended Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ helps us in controlling many diseases such as infections, hypertension, circulatory diseases, pains, infertility, cancer, etc. 🔹

🔹There are many benefits for the believer in using Hijaamah as a remedy in this world. From amongst the benefits of Hijaamah in this world for the believer is that one will be rewarded for using it. This is because they are reviving a Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. When we look at it from a worldly perspective, we find Hijaamah has many health benefits including the promotion of energy in the blood flow, the removing of toxins and other waste material from the blood and helping to speed up recovery time from ailments which people suffer from. Hijaamah is also known to prevent many diseases and therefore can be considered one of the best preventive measures against many diseases. Furthermore, Hijaamah can help people who are under the influence of magic spells or some evil beings. 🔹

🔹The Prophet ﷺ said: "Indeed the best of remedies you have is Hijaamah…" (Bukhari)

The Prophet ﷺ also said that on the night of Al-Israa wal-Mi-raaj (his ascension to the heavens), he did not pass by an angel except that it was said to him, "Oh Muhammad, order your nation with Hijaamah." (Tirmidhi)

The Prophet ﷺ said, "If there was something excellent to be used as a remedy then it is cupping." (Abu Dawood & ibn Maajah) 🔹

🔹Although Papaya is not mentioned in Tibb an Nabawi because it is not a native fruit of the Arabian Peninsula, it is an incredibly valuable addition to our diets as it has a high medicinal value. Papaya was the only studied food found to halt cancer.

Papaya is a store-house of cancer-fighting lycopene. The intense orangey-pink colour of papaya means it is full of cancer fighting carotenoids. Not only beta carotene, but lycopene is found in abundance. The construction of lycopene makes it highly reactive towards oxygen and free radicals. Scientists at the University of Illinois think this anti-oxidant activity contributes to its effectiveness as a cancer fighting agent.

Enzymes from papaya digest proteins including those that protect tumours. The fruit and other parts of the papaya tree, also known as the paw paw tree, contain papain and chymopapain, powerful proteolytic enzymes that facilitate chemical reactions in the body. They promote digestion by helping to break down proteins from food into amino acids that can be recombined to produce protein useable by humans. Proteolytic enzymes protect the body from inflammation and help heal burns. They do a good job of digesting unwanted scar tissue both on the skin and under its surface.

Being a proteolytic enzyme, papain is able to destroy intestinal parasites, which are composed mostly of protein.

To rid the body of intestinal parasites, half a cup of papaya juice can be alternated each hour for twelve consecutive hours with the same amount of cucumber or green bean juice.

Research has shown that the physical and mental health of people is highly dependent on their ability to produce proteins they can use effectively. However, as people age, they produce less of the enzymes needed to effectively digest proteins from food and free needed amino acids. They are left with excessive amounts of undigested protein which can lead to overgrowth of unwanted bacteria in the intestinal tract, and a lack of available amino acids.

Eating papaya after a meal promotes digestion, and helps prevent bloating, gas production, and indigestion. It is quite helpful after antibiotic use to replenish friendly intestinal bacteria that were the casualties in the war against the unwanted bacteria. When the intestinal tract is well populated with friendly bacteria, the immune system is strengthened, and can protect better against flu and cancer.

Papaya contains fibrin, another useful compound not readily found in the plant kingdom. Fibrin reduces the risk of blood clots and improves the quality of blood cells, optimising the ability of blood to flow through the circulatory system. Fibrin is also important in preventing stokes. Proteolytic enzymes containing fibrin are a good idea for long plane rides to minimize the potential of blood clots in the legs. People who sit at a desk all day might want to use proteolytic enzymes too. Proteolytic enzymes are able to digest and destroy the defence shields of viruses, tumours, allergens, yeasts, and various forms of fungus. Once the shield is destroyed, tumours and invading organisms are extremely vulnerable and easily taken care of by the immune system. Undigested proteins can penetrate the gut and wind up in the bloodstream where they are treated by the immune system as invaders. If too many undigested proteins are floating around, the immune system becomes overburdened and unable to attend to the other tasks it was meant to do. Proteolytic enzymes can digest these rogue proteins, freeing up the immune system.🔹

🔹The Sunnah characteristics of performing Ghusl (Bath).

The following have been taken directly from aHadith recorded in Sahih Al Bukhari and constitute the Sunnah method of taking a Bath, therefore it is unquestionably the best possible method and brings down the greatest blessings of good health and Shifa from Allah Tala.

To start by washing the hands up to the wrists (twice or thrice).
Next, to perform Wudhu as if for the Prayer but delay washing the feet until the very end of the Ghusl.
To pour water 3 times (three handfuls) over the head.
To massage the roots of the hair to ensure they do not remain dry.
To wet the left hand and wash the private parts with it.
To then pour water (three times) over the rest of the body and wash it thoroughly, ensuring that no place remains dry (for example, behind the ears, inside the belly button).
To withdraw from the place where you have performed Ghusl and wash the feet separately at the end.
The Holy Prophet (sallAllahu alayhi wassallam) was presented with a piece of cloth to use after the Ghusl but he did not take it, instead he used his hands to remove the traces of water from his body.
To rub scent (a perfume which does not contain alcohol) first over the right, then left side of the head, then the middle of the head with both hands.

🔹The benefits of breastfeeding for the child include the following:

1. The mother’s milk is sterile, containing no germs.

2. The mothers milk contains all the complex amino acids and proteins required to help the newborn fight off childhood diseases and allergies. Breastfed children grow up healthier and stronger than their bottle-fed counterparts.

3. The mother’s milk cannot be imitated by any milk prepared from the milk of cows, goats or camels. It is composed in such a way as to meet the child’s needs day after day, from birth until weaning.

4. The mother’s milk contains sufficient amounts of protein and sugar that suit the infant completely, whereas the proteins in cow’s, goat’s and buffalo’s milk are difficult for the child’s stomach to digest, because they are suited to the offspring of those animals.

5. The development of children who are breastfed is faster and more complete than that of children who are bottle-fed.

6. The psychological and emotional bond between the mother and her child is strengthened to a great degree. Children grow up remaining close to their mother and respectful of her wishes insha’Allah.

7. The mother’s milk contains various elements that are essential to the child’s nourishment, in the right amounts and formats needed by his body, and in a form that is suited to his ability to digest and absorb. The nourishing content of the milk is not fixed; it changes day by day according to the child’s needs.

8. The mother’s milk is kept at a suitable temperature that meets the child’s needs, and can be given to him or her at any time.

9. Breastfeeding can be a natural means of contraception for some mothers, and is free of the complications that may accompany use of birth control pills, the coil (IUD) or injections.

10. The good character of the Muslim mother (patience, affection, wisdom and intelligence) is passed from her to the child during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

11. Because of the closeness and affection displayed at the time of breastfeeding, the newborns grow up with better manners and their mothers Du’as to Allah for them are always listened to.

The child feels ultimate comfort and security through being so close to his or her mother and their special bond is strengthened, so much so that in Islam if a non-related woman breastfeeds a child she becomes a foster mother to him or her and her children are foster sisters and brothers to him or her who he/she cannot marry! As the Holy Prophet (pbuh) said as is related in a number of Hadith, “Indeed, Allah has prohibited [marriage] among suckling relatives, as He has prohibited it among birth [or blood] relatives.”[Recorded by Sahih Al-Bukhari, Muslim]

There really is no contest between breastfeeding and bottle-feeding.

It is permissible with the parent’s joint agreement to have a child breastfed by another woman and that wet-nurse is entitled to a wage.

However, it is better if no one breastfeeds the child but his/her mother; because that is more beneficial, and that may be obligatory for her if the child will not accept the breast of anyone else or any other milk.

In Islam, unless there is a legitimate excuse, the mother is required to breastfeed her baby. It is an obligation upon both parents – the mother provides the milk and the father provides the material support for the mother even if they are divorced. If a parent thinks there is a need to wean the baby before the end of two years it is permissible after consultation and joint agreement.🔹

Part1
🔹The Benefits of Breastfeeding.

It is important to note that the very best of Allah’s human creations, His blessed Messengers (alayhisalaam) were breastfed. Allah inspired the mother of Musa (alayhisalaam) to put her baby in a basket in the river to save him from Pharaoh’s killing decree, Pharaoh’s family found him and wanted to keep him and looked everywhere for a wet-nurse to breastfeed him and Allah caused baby Musa (alayhisalaam) to refuse to be breastfed by any woman except his own mother.

Our beloved Holy Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) in his childhood, suckled from his mother Lady Aminah (radhi Allahu anha), Thuwaybah – a slave girl of his uncle Abu Lahab, Umm Ayman and Halimah as-Sa’diyyah (radhi Allahu anha). And Allah Azzawajal knows best.

The children of the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) were also breastfed. His son Ibrahim had a wet-nurse during his short life and when he passed away he was only a year and 10 months old, so there were two months of suckling left for him. Because of this, the Prophet (sallAllahu alayhi wasallam) said, as narrated by Al-Bara ibn Azib in Al Bukhari, "There is a wet-nurse for him in Jannah."

It is only in modern times that the wide use of artificial forms of baby-feeding, cow’s and goat’s milk formulas, have been used and sadly our sisters have left their homes in pursuit of careers which make them leave the superior role that Allah Azzawajjal has given them and pulled them away from the home to serve others and leave their own families. Unfortunately, some Muslim mothers feel breastfeeding will adversely affect their bodies, or be a hindrance to losing post-pregnancy weight, or they may think it is uncomfortable and painful.

Allah The Supreme tells us the recommended time of suckling a child in the Qur’an:

“And the mothers are to suckle their infants for two years, for those who wish to complete the suckling”
(Surah Baqarah 2:233)

And also;

“We have enjoined upon the human being to treat his parents kindly. His mother bore him with strain upon strain, and his weaning is in two years.”
(Surah Luqman 31:14)

The importance and blessing of breast-feeding has been mentioned by Allah the Sublime Himself, in not one, but a number of places in the Holy Qur’an, as the preserved Criterion for all eternity. Such is the status of this blessed act that it elevates a woman in rank and provides the complete nutrition our newborn babies need.

Fourteen hundred years after this verse was revealed, international organisations such as the World Health Organisation have issued many statements calling on mothers all over the World to breastfeed their children, whereas Islam enjoined that fourteen centuries ago.🔹

🔹Liver is a fantastic source of soluble iron, thus making it one of the best foods for patients with iron deficiency. Amongst the livers of all the halal animals, the liver of the camel is the best type, particularly when it is cooked with a little of its hump fat. If camel liver is not available in your location, lamb’s liver or chicken livers are also very good. They tend to be slightly softer and easier to digest.

Regarding the consumption of liver, it has been recorded in the Sunnah that it is permissible;

It was narrated by Abdullah ibn 'Umar (radhi Allahu anhu) that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said, “Two kinds of dead meat and two kinds of blood have been permitted to us. The two kinds of dead meat are fish and locusts, and the two kinds of blood are the liver and spleen.”
Sunan Ibn Majah Book 29, Hadith 3439. Classed as Sahih by Darussalaam.

The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) used to eat liver;

It is narrated that Abu Rafi' (radhi Allahu anhu) said, "I testify that I used to roast the liver of the goat for the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and then he offered praver but did not perform ablution."
Sahih Muslim Book 3, Hadith 695

In order to take full advantage of the healing which liver meat provides, its curries should be cooked in the blessed olive oil, without browning the onions too much. For this curry, salt to taste and a little vinegar should be stirred in just before serving to ensure that the meat doesn’t become tough during the cooking process. With regards to vinegars, the best to use are those which are raw (unfiltered) and organic. 🔹

🔹How did the Prophet eat?

The Prophet said: I eat as a slave eats, and I sit as a slave sits. Since indeed I’m a slave.

Source: Sahih al-Jami (no. 8)

Ibn al-Qayyim: The Prophet used to sit on his feet while eating.

He used to place his knees on the ground and would place the bottom of his left foot on the upper part of his right foot in humility for the Lord, and in respect for the food and for those present.

This is the best way to sit for eating, because the organs of the body will be in their proper position along with observing good manners.

🔹Like many other herbal plants, henna has numerous medicinal properties. It can be used both as a cure for illnesses and for simple adornment for both men and women. The virtues and benefits of henna have been mentioned in several hadiths.

Today, many people are only aware of the cosmetic uses of henna, such as colouring the hair, hands, or feet. However, henna leaves have a great number of healing properties and can cure health problems like leprosy and eczema, and heal wounds, burns and ulcers. Henna is even known to have a positive effect on chickenpox and smallpox.

The Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
“No one complained to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) of a headache but he told him to get himself cupped, or of a pain in his legs but he told him to dye them with henna.” – Abu Dawood

“Whenever the Prophet (pbuh) had an ulcer, fester or eczema, he ordered me to put henna on it.” – Authentic, Jaami’ al-Usool by Ibn al-Atheer

Henna for colour
Henna is most commonly used to colour the hands, feet, nails, and hair. However, it is only permissible for men to use henna to colour their hair—the application of henna to colour hands, feet and nails is only permissible for women. Men and women are permitted to dye their hair any colour except black.

“The best thing with which to colour your grey hair is henna or katm.” – Abu Dawood and Tirmithi

Henna for healthy hair
Henna is an excellent conditioner for your hair; it adds shine, strengthens it, and protects it from damage. Henna can also stimulate hair growth, decrease hair fall, and it is ideal for treating dandruff.

Henna for general healing
1. Applying henna powder or paste on to a burn will reduce the pain and speed up the healing process.

2. Henna powder or paste also possesses healing properties when applied to wounds and ulcers.

3. Applying henna to areas of your body which are aching will ease the pain.

4. If you are suffering from a sore throat, soak henna leaves in water for a while and then gargle the water.

5. Henna also has an anti-viral effect that can be used to cure warts and herpes simplex.

6. Henna is also known to have anti-haemorrhage properties.🔹

🔹Aloe Vera's miraculous list of benefits are many and mankind has been using this plant for both internal and external applications for over 5000 years. The bulk of the Aloe Vera leaf is filled with a clear gel-like substance, which is approximately 99% water.

Aloe contains over 200 active components including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, poly-saccharides and fatty acids. No wonder it’s used for such a wide range of remedies.

Using Aloe in treating the eyes is from the Sunnah.

Aloe Vera is particularly good for the eyes and the optical nerve, particularly if the patient is suffering from inflammation of the eyes:

A Muhrim (someone who is in the state of Ihram) being permitted to use Aloe to treat an illness of the eyes -
Nubaih bin Wahb said ‘Umar bin ‘Ubaid Allah bin Ma’mar (radhi Allahu anhu) had a complaint in his eyes. He sent (someone) to Aban bin ‘Uthman - the narrator Sufyan said that he was the chief of pilgrims during the season of Hajj – asking him what he should do with them. He said Apply aloes to them, for I heard ‘Uthaman (radhi Allahu anhu) narrating this on the authority of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam).
Classed as Sahih from Sunan Abi Dawood Book 10, Hadith 1834

Most people will know Aloe Vera for its skin healing properties or its digestive benefits. In addition to this, Ibn al Qayyim (rahimullah) said it also helps to clear the stomach of excess bile and phlegm if two tablespoons of its freshly pressed juice are taken with some water [perhaps half a cup or so].

Juice from fresh leaves is vastly superior to that which is bought in a bottle from the market and there are a number of ways of preparing the juice, the simplest of which is to take the largest and fattest mature leaf from the plant and cut it into chunks. the juice from these chunks can be left to drain naturally into a bowl placed under a colander. If not much juice is coming out, you can press it gently with the back of a spoon.🔹
