Zakāh al-Fiṭr UPDATE from Taalib.co

Alhamdulillah we have sent the collected funds to Nigeria. In total, Zakāh was collected to feed 212 people! 

May Allah accept this from us all.

The food will be distributed by 8am GMT on 24th May InshāAllah.

Those who have paid Zakāh via Taalib should pray the Eid Salāh after 8am to ensure those in need receive the Zakāh before the prayer.

Zakāh al-Fiṭr 1441/2020

Narrated by Ibn Umar may Allāh be pleased with him, the Messenger ﷺ ordered for the payment of one Ṣā'* of dates or one Ṣā' of barley as Zakāh al-Fiṭr on every Muslim slave or free, male or female, young or old, and he ordered that it be paid before the people went out to offer the ‘Īd prayer. [Bukhārī and Muslim]

As a result of the lockdown, many do not know where to contribute the Zakāh al-Fiṭr. To help facilitate this obligation for the community, Zakāh al-Fiṭr will be collected and sent to Nigeria. The contributions will be used to purchase/distribute rice before Ṣalāh al-'Īd is established in the UK (23/24 May) InshāAllah.

The cost of rice equivalent to one Ṣā' is ₦1600 / £4 including transaction and foreign exchange fees taken by the payment provider. Any surplus monies will be given as sadaqah there.

The deadline to pay Zakāh via Taalib is 4pm GMT Friday 22nd May.

Due to the recent outbreak of the Coronavirus and the latest advice, it is with regret that we inform you that the congregational prayers at the masjid will cease temporarily until further notice. This will take affect from after the Fajr prayer 26/7/41 (congruent with 21/3/20) and further announcements will be made in shā Allāh. All scheduled lessons will also be postponed during this period. You may contact the masjid via email for any questions you may have. We advise every Muslim to return back to their lord in repentance and to continue their acts of worship, especially their prayers, within thier homes.

Allāh - the Most High - states:

وَإِن یَمۡسَسۡكَ ٱللَّهُ بِضُرࣲّ فَلَا كَاشِفَ لَهُۥۤ إِلَّا هُوَۖ وَإِن یُرِدۡكَ بِخَیۡرࣲ فَلَا رَاۤدَّ لِفَضۡلِهِۦۚ یُصِیبُ بِهِۦ مَن یَشَاۤءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِۦۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِیمُ

'And if Allah touches you with hurt, there is none who can remove it but He; and if He intends any good for you, there is none who can repel His Favour which He causes it to reach whomsoever of His slaves He will. And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful'.
