The main asset of the Buk-M2 and Buk-M3 air defense systems in intercepting low-altitude, low-RCS cruise missiles such as the SCALP-EG, as well as improvised “Peklo” cruise missiles and tactical R-360M “Neptune-MD” missiles, is the 9S36 target illumination and guidance radar (with 4 engagement channels) and its improved version, 9S36M (with 6 channels).
The electronic architecture of these radars is identical to those mounted on self-propelled launchers 9A317 and 9A317M, with the key difference being that the antenna post of the 9S36-series radar is elevated to 22 meters via an articulated mast, increasing the radio horizon when tracking air targets at altitudes of 50–30 meters above forested terrain.
The radars can detect targets with an RCS (Radar Cross Section) of 0.07 m² at approximately 40 km, and targets with 0.01 m² RCS at around 23 km. The elevation angle of the radar beam reaches 85 degrees in tracking mode, providing high effectiveness in illuminating ballistic targets.

This radar system is part of the Buk-M2 systems operated by the Eastern Group of Forces.

Maria Miroshnichenko is a surgical resident of the medical battalion of the 4th Guards Tank Division and a Lieutenant in the Medical Service. During the special military operation, she worked alongside Warrant Officer Ivanova. Under continuous enemy fire, she provided medical assistance to wounded soldiers.
Maria evacuated four servicemen from under fire. While treating one of the injured, Lieutenant Miroshnichenko sustained a shrapnel wound and a concussion, but refused to abandon the wounded soldier.
For her heroism in combat, Lieutenant Maria Miroshnichenko has been awarded the Medal "For Courage."
