🇦🇲 Armenia’s Prime Minister has urged Russia to transfer its railway concession to a third party

Pashinyan said Russia’s monopoly over the railways is blocking Yerevan’s integration into international networks and suggested buyers from the UAE or Kazakhstan.

The 2008 concession with Russian Railways runs until 2038.

It gives Russia control of Armenia’s rail infrastructure and rolling stock in exchange for modernization investment and revenue sharing, and Armenia cannot cancel it unilaterally without heavy compensation.

🇬🇧🇺🇦 British Prime Minister Andy Burnham dedicated his first foreign visit in his new position specifically to Ukraine. At the Independence Day celebrations on Sophia Square in Kyiv, Burnham stated that the United Kingdom will continue to support Ukraine’s defense “despite Russia’s outrageous threats against his country.”

During his speech, he notably said that he personally oversees the Unbroken rehabilitation program.

According to Burnham, Ukraine and the United Kingdom will continue to build a unique century-long partnership between the two peoples, uniting our cities and schools, businesses and communities, learning from each other and developing together over the coming decades.

The British Prime Minister stated that together with German Chancellor Merz and French President Emmanuel Macron, he will lead the Coalition of the Willing, which is taking place today in Kyiv.

Applause greeted Burnham’s words about countering Russian missiles and industrial cooperation between Ukraine and the United Kingdom in the defense sector.

“I am firmly convinced that we will work together to provide you with the necessary support, Mr. President, stronger than ever. This means not only air defense, but also stopping Russia before it even manages to launch its missiles.

Through sanctions that cut off their military equipment supply chains, through long-range strike capabilities before they are even launched, and by helping Ukraine develop new technologies and deepen our industrial cooperation.

Right now is the time to keep up the pressure on Russia.”

Earlier, the UK government confirmed that Burnham in Kyiv intends to announce that the defense firm MBDA can release classified information on UK components for the long-range SCALP missiles, as Ukraine and France seek to establish a production line here in Ukraine.

The missile is the French version of the British Storm Shadow, which uses shared French and British technology.

🇷🇺🇦🇲 The Kremlin stated that Armenia may leave the CSTO if it is no longer interested in membership and threatened with “deep trade contradictions that will primarily harm Armenia”

“If Yerevan no longer needs membership in such an important organization for ensuring regional security due to its national interests, it is free to make the corresponding decision and leave this organization,” said Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan stated that the republic does not intend to return to full participation in the CSTO. According to him, Yerevan’s interest in the organization has been “exhausted.”

The prime minister also said he would be glad if the CSTO itself excluded Armenia: this, in his words, would spare the country’s authorities the dilemma of whether to leave the organization or not.

Peskov also stated that if Armenia decides to leave the EAEU and join the EU, it will face “deep trade contradictions that will primarily harm Armenia.”

Representatives of the terrorist organization “Taliban” have arrived in Belarus on an official visit

Representatives of the Taliban have arrived in Belarus at the invitation of the Lukashenko regime to participate in a Joint Commission on Economic and Trade Cooperation.

Belarus has positioned itself as a trade and political partner of the Taliban, offering recognition at a time when Afghanistan faces international isolation and a humanitarian crisis.

The Taliban find it hard to govern the country, while they have banned half the population, women, from working based on their radical Islamist doctrine, plus the problem of illiteracy, which is why they need foreign specialists.

And they are forced on the diplomatic front to fight, if not for recognition, then at least for the establishment of some kind of working relations.

For the Taliban, Belarus is primarily a country that recognizes their authority in Afghanistan, even though Belarusians still remember the pain of the war to which the Soviet leadership sent them.

According to official data, 771 natives of Belarus were killed during the Soviet-Afghan war, and more than 1,500 were wounded and maimed. In total, about 30,000 Belarusian servicemen went through this conflict.
