More than 200,000 background checks for gun purchases were initiated on Black Friday, making it the second-highest day of checks ever, according to data released by the FBI. The data showed that 202,465 total checks were started on the mega shopping day in the US, falling just short of the record set in 2017. The Friday after Thanksgiving is typically the biggest day of the year for gun purchases and therefore background checks, fueled by holiday shopping and the fall hunting season. @news_in_levels_video
