Adidas Originals & Coinbase Strike Partnership
Earlier this week, the Adidas brand Adidas Originals announced its entry into the world of cryptocurrency with a purposefully vague tweet announcing a relationship with Coinbase, the American exchange behemoth that has been in operation since 2012.
When Adidas Originals responded, Coinbase responded with the ubiquitous crypto community greeting "gm" (shorthand for good morning) and tagged the company, writing: "Welcome to the party, partner!"
Last week, Adidas Originals linked up with metaverse participant The Sandbox, purchasing a virtual area in the game's virtual environment that includes 144 parcels. According to a map description, the partnership will include:
"With our first immersive and always-on virtual experience, Adidas Originals is plunging into the Metaverse and heading for the Sandbox. As we take our first steps into this brave new world of creativity, we invite you to join us.
