What are rumors/myths/stories/facts you heard about Presidential Schools (or TPS specifically) as a non PS student?

I think a lot of people have a wrong conception of what PS is, so I’d love to share some insider (maybe controversial) info.

Do you think PS Students get an UNFAIR advantage in the Admission Process? Support your answer in the comments.

Then came Grade 11. Massive bump in academic rigor cuz of A-levels, College Essays, Extracurriculars, Research—all led to nights of 3-4 hours of sleep. When I applied to colleges and thought to myself, “Finally, all of this is over,” we got hit with 9 lessons of Math a week, finishing 2 chapters from Physics in 5 lessons, and endless homework practice papers from teachers. In grade 11 I did the bare minimum to pass all of my subjects with a 5, and tried to enjoy more time with my friends.

Finally, I graduated. 11 years, 4 different schools, and 5 years of living in TPS came to end. In 2019 I complained to my parents about my school every day, but today I can confidently say that back in 2019, they might probably one of the best decisions of my life by signing me up for the examination. Even though a lot of things at school didn’t satisfy me, the people here made it completely worth it.

A chapter of my life came to an end, and another one is about to begin in a “small school in the Boston Area.” I’m happy that my best friend Shamil will be close to me in Amherest and that Sayfullo will also be in the US. I’ll be waiting for my Gap Year friends to join me too (MIT is waiting for Sohibjon and Stanford for Doniyor).

To be completely honest, I don’t want to graduate :( Yet, i’m interested what Harvard will bring to my life.

Congratulations TPS Class of 2024, we did it 🎉🥳

2019-2024

In 2019, my parents saw an advertisement on TV about new Presidential Schools, with an international curriculum and extracurricular opportunities all completely for free, opening in Uzbekistan. Excited by the opportunity, they signed me up for the entrance examination. That year, around 3000 people applied for my class, and they would’ve accepted only 24, so I didn’t have any high hopes. Yet, I somehow placed 4th out of all test takers. I was officially a TPS student.

The first year was pretty easy. My classmates and I bonded quite quickly since we all lived together. That year I lived with Sayfullo and Sohibjon, who motivated the lazy me to do homework. Academically, grades 7 to 9 were extremely easy, so I spent most of my time watching anime and playing football. In grade 10, we started AS-levels, which were much harder than IGCSEs. I also started preparing for the SAT and engaging in activities, such as Zakovat, PSAD, Student Gov., and Volunteering.
