Nobody tells you how much sleep you’ll lose or how some nights you’ll cry until your cheeks burn. Nobody tells you that you may never experience that “connection” with a career that you’ve been waiting for all your life. You’re thrown out of high school and told to pick a major. You hadn’t put much thought into it before. Your parents say you should be a nurse, and you can’t think of anything better so you just say “sure.” You put all this time into nursing courses but now you’re having second thoughts. You don’t know if you can see yourself as a nurse or if you’d even make a good one to begin with.

They talk about the friends you’ll meet and the memories you’ll make, but they never tell you how hard it is.
