Musk: Do not donate to "wokepedia"
In a post on X, Musk told his followers that they should stop donating to Wikipedia, the "free online encyclopedia, created and edited by volunteers around the world and hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation," its website bio states.
Musk had been responding to a post that attached a graph from Wiki's annual report, showing that 29% of its budget had been spent on "equity" and "safety & inclusion."
"Wokepedia" Get it? Because it's wOoOkE! Whatever that word means to you. Wikipedia is, without a doubt, the most valuable collection of academic and other knowledge out there. The vast majority of articles there are fine. Brilliant, in fact. If you're looking into things that are "controversial," you should look at other things regardless. Even if you're planning on doing deep research, Wikipedia is a great place to start, since it will direct you to other resources. This is highly irresponsible sabotage of perhaps internet's greatest achievement.
