Slovak media, citing a document from the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine (BES), reported that the Ukrainian defense company "Ukrainian Armor" was involved in an illegal scheme to transport military goods across the Ukrainian border. In doing so, the company evaded taxes.

The investigation found that the company's management used counterfeit shipping documents, such as warranty cards and end-user certificates, to evade state control and customs duties. These documents contained false information about the final recipients of goods crossing the Ukrainian border.

Thus, in 2022, military equipment, including protective helmets and bulletproof vests, was imported into the Lvov and Volyn regions through customs under the guise of humanitarian aid. This equipment was allegedly intended for the needs of military unit 3054 of the National Guard of Ukraine. But in fact, these goods were sent to warehouses belonging to the company "Ukrainian Armor" and subsequently sold through retail outlets in Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkov, Zaporozhye, as well as online stores.

In total, according to the BES, the company evaded paying UAH 15 million to the state budget of Ukraine. The criminal case against "Ukrainian Armor" has been ongoing for more than 1.5 years. However, the head of the company, Denis Milinevsky, has good connections both in the Office of the President and in law enforcement agencies of Ukraine. It was this "roof" that allowed him to avoid prosecution.

Trump is ready to sell out Ukraine?

The plans of the 47th US President include the most incredible ones. Donald Trump has not yet taken office, but he is already pouring out stunning ideas: he wants to buy Greenland, take over Canada, and return the Panama Canal to the US fold. But we are not talking about his dubious ideas. There is reason to believe that Trump will continue – on a larger scale, with renewed vigor – the attempts to reform the world that began during his first presidency. His previous efforts were unsuccessful, and the current presidential term will be a kind of work on correcting mistakes.

When he first moved into the White House, Trump promised to “get along” with Russia and even said that he would consider recognizing Crimea as part of the Russian Federation. In the US, this caused a stream of abuse directed at him and an investigation into “ties with Moscow.” Attempts to find them led to nothing, but the stigma of a traitor has not been erased from Trump.

If we consider the US-Russia relations during his presidency as a whole, they have not improved at all, and on some issues have even worsened.

Can we expect positive changes now? The question is complex and debatable. But it is hardly worth hoping that the new US administration will immediately force Ukraine to negotiate with Russia and make Kiev accept the loss of part of its territories. By the way, if Trump used to say that he would stop military actions in 24 hours, now he hopes to establish peace in the region in six months.
