Coconut Oil and Honey Face Wash
Get this:
Extra virgin coconut oil – 3 teaspoons
Raw honey – 1 teaspoon
Baking soda – 1 teaspoon
A container with lid
Do this:
First, pour the coconut oil into a small bowl. Take a spoon and stir. Warm your spoon if the oil is hard and then dry it. You have to stir with a warm spoon.
Add the honey. Stir it in.
Now add your baking soda and stir this well.
Transfer to the container and store at room temperature.
Don’t worry if this hardens. It will melt when you apply on your skin.
How to apply:
Take a small spoon or spatula and scoop out a little portion.
Now apply on your neck and face. Move your fingers in circles to exfoliate.
Give it time to soak and then remove with warm water.
Pat dry with a clean towel.

Mix one to two teaspoons of organic raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar in a cup of warm water.

Health Benefits of #Custard #Apple

Custard apple is a storehouse of Vitamin C, which is an anti-oxidant and helps in neutralizing free radicals.

Vitamin A present in the fruit is good for hair, eyes and healthy skin.

Custard apple contains magnesium, which plays vital role in relaxing muscles and protecting heart against diseases.
Potassium and Vitamin B6 are also present in custard apple.
Copper is yet another useful ingredient of custard apple.

It is a rich source of dietary fiber, which helps in digestion.

How to Do Steam Inhalation? When suffering from Fever/ Cold/ Headache..

Get this:

Water- 1 big bowl

Any anti-inflammatory essential oil (optional)- few drops (read on the later remedies to know what essential oils to use for sinus congestion relief)
Towel

Do this:

Bring the water to a boil.
Now take this into a bowl and add essential oil drops if using.

Lean forward over the bowl and cover your head and bowl in such a way that the stem may not escape. However, maintain a distance at least of 30 cm otherwise you may burn your face.
Breath through your nose feeling the steam going inside it.

Do this for 1-2 minutes or till the time (few seconds) you can tolerate .
Remove the towel and sit comfortably till you feel calm and cooler.

Repeat the process again.

At any point where the steam makes you uncomfortable or you feel a sensation of burning, you should remove the towel and let your face become cooler.

Take special care when inhaling steam to avoid burns, especially in case of children, senior persons and pregnant women.




Prepare raita using grated white pumpkin, ginger, chilly, coriander leaves, curry leaves and beaten curd, temper with little oil and mustard seeds. Pumpkin is effective in controlling blood pressure.
43. Hand sprain
Boil some pepper and camphor in water. Wet a cloth in this boiled water and give a fermentation on sprained area. Turpentine oil also helps in relieving sprains.
44. Diabetes
Bermuda grass essence mixed with butter milk lowers and stabilizes blood sugar. Bermuda grass is beneficial in prevention of condition associated with diabetes.

Soak raisins in water for half an hour and consume the filtered water in the morning. This helps in curing menstrual disorders and heart related diseases.

Burn a piece of curcumin, powder it and mix with coconut oil to make a paste. Apply it over the injured place twice a day, morning and night. This heals the wound faster.

23. Sputum
Powder some quantity of tail pepper and store in a glass container. Consume a pinch of this powder by mixing with honey. This helps to cure sputum.

Centella is a powerful herb in boosting memory power. Shade-dry centella and powder it. Consume one tablespoon of this powder daily. Make a regular practice of including lady’s finger in food. It is considered as a good memory booster.
25. Dysentery
Soak fenugreek seeds and mix with butter milk. Drinking this thrice a day will cure dysentery.

Fenugreek rice porridge helps in boosting lactation. 1 cup of rice along with 2 tablespoon of fenugreek seeds are pressure cooked with enough salt and water until it turns mushy.

Consuming watermelon and tender coconut during pregnancy will improve fairness of baby.

Asafoetida helps in the natural treatment of burns caused by hot water or fire. Applying powdered asafoetida on the affected area reduces irritation.

1. Bronchitis (Chest cold)
Heat some coconut oil and add little powdered camphor. Once it has cooled, apply it evenly on the chest. This helps in relieving cold and gives great relaxation.
2. Headache
Make a paste 5-6 tulsi leaves, small piece of dried ginger and 2 cloves. Apply it on forehead. This compression gives a natural remedy from headache.
3. Throat irritation
Fry a little quantity of dry ginger, tail pepper, long pepper and yelarisi and powder it. Mix it with honey and take. This helps in soothing sore throat and gives relief after few number of drinks.
4. Incessant Hiccups:
Crush few gooseberries, extract the juice, mix it with honey and have. Gooseberries are in antioxidants as well.

Boil some curry leaves, ginger and cumin seeds, once it has cooled down, filter it and take.

Take a piece of dry ginger, boil it in water until it reduces to one-fourth. Add milk and sugar. Consume it twice a day, morning and evening. Ginger has higher level of gingerol which helps in fighting number of diseases.
10. Eye irritation and body heat:
Soak fenugreek seeds and grind it to a smooth paste. Apply it on the root of the hair. Leave it for few minutes and then rinse. This promotes hair growth, relieves eye irritation and reduces body heat as well.
11. Stomach
Take the filtered water of cooked parboiled rice and add salt and butter to it. Consume this drink. You will see the relief from stomach in few minutes.
12. Tooth Sensitivity:
Chew few seeds of mint leaves or dry and powder the mint leaves. Add salt to it and brush your teeth. You will find relief from sensitivity in just two days.
13. Mouth Ulcer or Sores:
To get relief from mouth ulcer chew copra together with poppy seeds.
Or
Take haritaki powder and wet it in your mouth and then apply it on the sores with your tongue. This helps in reducing irritation and curing sores.
14. Headache:
Grind and extract juice of coriander leaves and drink in the morning. This will relieve you from headache.
15. Stomach pain
Show calamus (The Baby herb) directly on flame (gas top or lamp) till it is burnt and becomes black. Grind the burnt herb. Add sesame oil, coconut oil and castor oil. Apply this paste on lower stomach. This is an effective remedy for stomach ache.
16. Indigestion
Take a cup of Starch water (cooked rice water), add quarter tablespoon of turmeric, mix it well and consume.
Or
Take small piece of dry ginger, palm jaggery, few pepper corns, powder it. Consume twice a day. This cures indigestion and induces hunger.

Prepare decoction using ajwain and palm jaggery. Consume it and get relief from indigestion.
17. Back pain
Mix a spoon of ghee and cumin seed in rice water (starch water from cooked rice) and consume. This helps in relieving back pain.
18. Perspiration
Put a piece of Alum in bath water and have a bath. This helps in reducing extreme perspiration.
19. Body pain
Prepare a decoction using benzoin, turmeric powder and sugar. Add milk and jaggery to a portion of prepared decoction. Consume. It acts as a remedy in curing body pain.

For a simple remedy, make a thick paste of half a teaspoon of powdered almonds, and one teaspoon each of milk powder and honey. Apply the paste on the sides and back of the neck, leave it on for half an hour and then wash it off with water. Do this two to four times a week.
or
Extract pure aloe vera gel from the leaf.
Apply it directly on the neck and gently massage it. Leave it on for about 20 minutes.
Wash it off with water.
Repeat this once daily for fast results.
or
Mix crushed walnuts in yogurt to make a thick paste.
Apply the paste on the dark portion of your neck. Gently scrub for a few minutes and then allow it to dry.
Wash it off using cold water or rose water.
If done on regular basis, about twice a week, this remedy will rejuvenate your neck skin and reduce any dark appearance.
or
Take two teaspoons of coarsely ground oats and add a little tomato puree to it to get a thick paste. Apply the mixture on your neck and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Then scrub your neck gently. Finally, wash your neck with cold water and apply some moisturizer. Do this once or twice a week.
Mix one tablespoon of powdered oats with enough milk and honey to make a paste. Apply it on the dark area of the neck. Allow it to sit for 20 to 30 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water. Do this twice a week.
or
Put some orange peel in the sun and let it dry out. Then grind it into a powder. Add equal amount of whole milk to the powdered orange peel to make a thick paste. Apply the paste around the neck area and allow it to dry. Wash it off with cold water.

#Multigrain #Porridge Recipe for healthy drink..
Mothers can try for kids from 2 years to all age children.
Ingredients needed
Finger millet/Ragi -1/4 kg
Pear millet/Kambu -1/4 kg
Green gram - 1/4 kg
Wheat - 1/4 kg
Par boiled rice (pulungal arisi) - 1/4 kg
Fried gram /pottukadalai- 100 grams
Barley - 100 grams
Sago/jevarisi - 50 grams
Dry ginger/Sukku -2 inch piece
Almonds -25 grams
Method for preparing the porridge powder-
Wash finger millet/ragi well and soak it in water overnight.
Next day, rinse well , drain the water, tie it in a muslin cloth and hang it.
Leave it for sprouting. Rinse once in between.
After it has sprouted, rinse it again gently, drain the water and spread it on a cloth for drying. Dry it well either in the sun or in shade inside the house.
After it has dried well, dry roast it, till you get a nice aroma.
Repeat the same process as above for Pearl millet, Green gram and Wheat.
Dry roast boiled rice, fried gram, barley, sago, dry ginger and almonds separately.
Now combine all the 10 ingredients and get it ground in the flour mill/rice mill.
Your porridge powder is ready.
Now to the Multigrain Porridge-Kanji Recipe -
Porridge powder - 1 1/2 tbsp
Water -3/4 cup
Powdered jaggery -1 tbsp
Milk -1 cup
Method
Mix the porridge powder with water well without any lumps.
Cook over low flame stirring continuously till it becomes thick.
Add powdered jaggery and milk and consume lukewarm
