The LAPD 77th Street Area is actively addressing a recent concern involving female students at Augustus F. Hawkins High School located at 825 W. 60th St.
Over the past week, there have been 3 reported incidents where a male Hispanic, 30-40 years old, driving a light gray Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck has approached a student walking to school or leaving school asking to them to enter his truck.
We take these incidents seriously and are committed to ensuring the safety and security of our community, particularly our young residents.
As we investigate these incidents and continue to work with the LASPD and Hawkins HS, we urge parents, students, and community members to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity. Extra patrol will be provided around the school.
