Here are few reasons why Samarkand Half Marathon project that kicked-off yesterday is amazing and valuable to our country!
1) Their promotion is not aggressive. Instead, it is engaging; you genuinely want to be in Samarkand, even if you can’t. Social media strategy, identity, visuals and everything related to communication with people is top level. Should I even say that organizers held direct contact with journalists? They even did a little overwhelming amount of press-conferences, three or four, if I am not mistaken;
2) Obviously, they promote healthy lifestyle, but more to that, they use the platform to tell the world about Samarkand as your next tourism destination;
3) Run for inclusiveness. Oh, I love this so much. Not only Samarkand Half-Marathon strives to introduce running to the everyday life of people, but also make cultural heritage objects more accessible for people with disabilities. All the money raised within the event will be streamlined to make one cultural object in Tashkent (I don’t know which one specifically) accessible for persons with disabilities;
4) Finally, Mirkhan Sagitov who is one of the organizers of both Tashkent Half-Marathon and Samarkand Half-Marathon inspired me to run as well. It helps me to sleep, eat and live better!
Here is his talk, in case if you missed it: https://www.youtube.com/watch…
Nothing but love, guys!
See you @andanotherday
