"From the first moment of her existence [Mary] is different from other human beings, by virtue of the fact that their conception is tainted by Original Sin, for it is a conception of children of our first parents, who sinned, while her conception was exempted from this common law; it is an immaculate conception. She alone, therefore, is entitled to that name; so it is indeed the name the defines her in her essential feature." (KW 1319)
