The team is aware of information and rumors circulating regarding our upcoming funding period. We are still in an exploratory stage and diligently analyzing our options, which is why no official announcement has been made. For this reason, it would be premature to discuss arrangements..

We also see some wild misunderstandings circulating, including that the DFINITY foundation’s token endowment belongs to the team. The DFINITY foundation reserves complete discretion over how it applies its cash reserves and genesis token endowment in pursuit of the purpose defined in its notarial deed (basically, the development of Internet Computer technology, funding community programs, and supporting the network and its users).

Our foundation is being built out into a “NASA for decentralization” which requires significant funding and brilliant personnel—this is core to our approach and is not subject to change.

Like any well-run technology venture we provide employee incentives to attract and retain the world’s top talent, but the main purpose of our endowment is to allow us to responsibly fund the organization we are building for years to come.

An official update on the forthcoming contribution period will be released in the coming days, as previously scheduled, once outstanding questions have been resolved (including complex legal questions). Thank you.
