How to Rice Freshly installed Windows (Part 2):

This is what I call, operation system customization for Perfectionists, for those who truly appreciates his or her eyes. Presenting one of my past rice, “Nordic Nordissimo”. I used to have this customizations when I’ve just learned customizing Windows. So, shall we get started then?

⚠️ Warning: In order to rice your OS, make sure you have ram that is not less than 8 GB and 3 Ghz of cpu cloacking speed. Also, I don't take all responsibilities to myself as you do it on your own risk!

🍣 Procedure of ricing:

Step 1: Backup.
Even you’re the luckiest existance in this world, being cautious will never be detrimental. You can make a restore point backup on System Restore Point. Further guides are available on this link about backing up:
https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/

Step 2: Install custom renderers.
In order to let Window’s theming system understand custom styles, we need to install third party custom engines that will read and apply all custom styles that we wanna apply. So, we need to install UltraUXThemePatcher. After the installation of this, we have to reboot our machine once to let the windows reproduce all customization that we have just done. After that, we need create a folder namely “Rice” inside Program Files or Program Files x86 (it’s up to you wherever you’ll put, just don’t delete those things) and then store OldNewExplorer inside that directory. Open OldNexExplorer and press Run or Install button that is located on top of program.

Step 3: Download and apply themes. In this tutorial, I’ll be using Nord Themes that’s similar to macOS with it’s look and feel. Press this text in order to start download this theme. You will download an archive that has a folder “Themes”. You have to copy all files inside “Themes” and paste it inside “C:\Windows\Resources\Themes” and open Settings app, search for themes and pick one of Nord themes that you wish to install.

Step 4: Icon theme.
Get your own copy of Nord Icon Pack installer here and then extract it to somewhere. Open it and you’ll see that this directory has a folder namely “Nord iPack”. When you’ll open this, it has a program that is renamed to Nord iPack.exe.remove. All you have to do is remove .remove part from it’s name and proceed with the installation of your icon pack. When you’ll be done, just reboot your machine and voila!

🎴 Now enjoy with your riced computer!

For the rest part of customization as taskbar and dock bar, I’ll upload a tutorial on my own youtube channel if I’ll have free time in the somewhere of future (I’ll try but I won’t promise)

A further instructions of ricing like this customization will be posted soon. Stay stunned!

🔰 Tips and tricks: “How to rice Windows”

Warning: First of all, I’d like to apologize for my broken english, as a veteran weeb, I do use weeb’s dictionary such as “sauce” instead of source or ora instead of hey, etc

Do's and Don’ts:

1. Don’t install pirated softwares and use as possible as open source softwares
Description: If you start freshly installed windows with installation of pirated softwares such as cracked microsoft office or nulled adobe products, probably your computer get’s filled of miners and malwares that will cause resource abusement. Even though, if you really need some software that you’re not in capable to pay for, just install pirated version of it from only trusted sauce. I can provide some examples such as D!akov (but not all of them are clean so be aware!).

2. Don’t too many rices
Description: If you want some weeb styled windows that has ultra anime inspired animations on every side of your operation system, just don’t install variety of customizing softwares. Installation of too many customazation may lead to blue error screen of death (a.k.a bsoc). Rice, but don’t forget about limitations. I’ll provide some example list of softwares you can use on ricing below on this tutorial.

3. Never, ever! Don’t install third party antiviruses!
Description: Please just shut the f**k up and listen. I know that old versions of windows were used to be very unsecured whereas it were dangerous to stay for a while with dedicated antivirus by Windows. However, nowadays, it’s vice versa. Yep, I’m sure that starting from 202 update of Windows Defender is not weak as it’s used to be before. I owe you that built-in windows defender is powerful than any existing third party antivirus that are known as Kaspersky, Eset and Avira. So, please don’t install third party antivirus, you will endup seducing your computer’s resources.

4. Use native driver finder to install drivers instead of third party driver installers.
Description: There exist lots of softwares that will install all required softwares that will fully funcionate your computer. However, they all are not clean as you think and even some of them might come with a few malwares that will actually waste some portion of your computer’s resources. Therefore, it’s recommended to install drivers through Window’s native driver installer (Settings -> Updates -> Check Updates) that will make everything for you.

Must have applications list:

For [Cleaning or Optimising]
- Cleanmymac or Iobit Advanced SystemCare

For [Media]
- Use native windows 10 apps itself not third party softwares

For [Designing]
- Only Adobe for editing
- Blender or Cinema 4D for 3D editing

For Developer of [Package Manager]
- Scoop
- Chocolatey (if scoop does not work on your machine)

For Developer of [Editing and Writing]
- Visual Studio Code
- Github Desktop
- JetBrains IDEs

For [Rice of Windows]
- Wallpaper Engine
- WinAeroTweaker
- OldExplorer
- UltraXThemePatcher
- StartIsBack
- A proper theme or customization patch

JetBrains on Apple Silicon… Hmmm, yummy 😋

In addition, as homebrew contributors state, there has not been provided full access to all bottles. It means that you can’t install all packages that were available on our old x86-64 macs as we used to do before. We are also supposed to wait for developers’ support for all bottles to let’em make it compatible with arm apple silicon m1. So, let’s assume that it’s just semi annual beta testing channel where you have limited amount of choice…

Finally, homebrew brings official support for new macs with Apple Silicon M1 chips. Congratulations, now we can enjoy our old native matey with being packages installed. One love for those who contributed and made this thing work and for #rubylang! #respect

Summing up past 2020!

Ho, ho, ho, ahooey my friendies and subbies!

Finally, we did it boiz. 2020 is coming to the end. However, before we enter to the new year, we have to make a precise plan in order to don’t waste every minute of this new and special year by spending it way more efficient without any loose. In this year, I wrote a new plan and objectives. If you found my plan suitable for yourself also, you can feel free to take mine as a ready solution. However, don’t forget to optimize it to yourself )

Programming Languages - yeah, probably the most problematic topic ongoing every year. A simple mistake will corrupt the whole year experience. So, in this topic, I’ll base on my expectation & prediction skills in order to avoid such problems that was mentioned. So in this year, I’ll be working on:

1. Swift - So by the end of 2020, I transitioned to Apple eco-system. You might ask… transition? What does it mean? I just replaced all my tech devices with iDevices. In order to use my all iDevices altogether efficiently, I have to sharpen my skills on Swift programming language as this p.l belongs to apple itself. Nothing else in this world works more native on iDevices than swift does.

2. GoLang - one of my most favorite programming language with it's syntax and best standard library that was maintained by Google Developers itself. The reason why I'm picking up golang on 2021 is that, as far as I have arm laptop and pc, golang is the beast when it comes to threading.

3. Kotlin - even google officially announced that they have rewritten their all services on kotlin. In my humble opinion, Kotlin is the new standard that will replace java. Personally, from now so on, Java is just history, the future is kotlin!

4. JavaScript / TypeScript - yohoo! js on 2021! Yelp, you're not mistaken. Javascript and Typescript showed their best on 2020 and I hope that they will continue doin' it also on 2021. Also the realase of Deno.land on 2021, is promising lot's of features as compiling, refactoring, etc… Wanna create server? Use Oak or Express… Wanna create smarthouse? Homebringer... Wanna create mobile apps? (react, angular, vue) Native, ionic… In conclusion, javascript has any solution for any type of topic&problem.

5. V Lang - a developing programming language. Fast as C, richer with std than Python and beatiful as Go. alternative to C, Python & Go. Whole the past 5 years in a single programming language…

On the other hand, there will be questions like... (why not this, this & this), so let's clearify every case:

1. Why not Python - as the developer who contributed the python itself starting from 2.3 till the version 3.3, I can be sure that the python's popularity is goin' down day by day as it can be seen. So, better to drop out earlier than sticking to it till death.

2. Why not C# - if you’re the type of developer who loves to build everything from scratch like me, probably the eco system of this programming language is not for you. The unpredictable behaivor of Visual Studio with dark magic will make you go insane… However, I’ll still continue learning this programming language as it’s required by my university degree.

3. Why not Crystal - please hold on, yeah I do remember how I suggested this programming language for everyone as the future replacement of python. However, my view has changed when Vlang did a big leap on a stable release. So, no crystal anymore.

If you like my thoughts or have some suggestions, please take consider leaving some comments on comment section below!

Mirrorlist of distro packages are getting slow and deprecated day by day. Servers are shutting down. Everybody is switching to Windows because of lack of support in Uzbek language.
