🤔
Is it even possible to combine gifts?Since rumors about this have been circulating for about a month — and Durov is posting image that fuel these rumors — I decided to think about how this might actually be implemented.
Let’s imagine, from a UI/UX perspective, what would be needed? At the very least, a complex interface would be required to allow users to select which gifts to combine, and implementing such an interface directly inside the Telegram messenger seems illogical.
Also, due to the star refund mechanism, a purchased gift must be held for at least 21 days, so I rule out having such functionality directly within Telegram.
Only three options come to mind:
1️⃣ Another «4-character» mini-app in which something like this could be implemented. But as the sticker store experience has shown, it would quickly servers fail.
2️⃣ Implementing such functionality on Fragment, although that seems unlikely, as Fragment is a shop and auction, and they probably wouldn’t overload it with complex features.
3️⃣ Some sort of magical TON wallet where you can send several NFT gifts and, in return, receive a new, more unique NFT. But then, how do you reverse that gift back into Telegram? Is Telegram ready to generate a multitude of .tgs files for new gift animations?
Considering all the issues I see with this idea, it seems to me that it’s basically impossible.
And if it does get implemented, it would only be for gifts that have been held for more than 21 days and have been converted into NFTs(hello KYC).
If Durov adds such a large number of new gifts again on March 8, the price of the current ones will drop even further — and this will happen every time new gifts are introduced.
