⚡️🇺🇸🇸🇾 United States Drafting Plans to Withdraw All Troops From Syria

❗️The US Defense Department is developing plans to withdraw all American troops from Syria, NBC reports on Tuesday.

President Donald Trump and officials close to him recently expressed interest in pulling U.S. troops out of Syria, the U.S. defense officials said, leading Pentagon officials to begin drawing up plans for a full withdrawal in 30, 60 or 90 days.

In late 2019, Trump ordered Defense Secretary James Mattis to withdraw all U.S. troops from Syria. Mattis pushed back against the plan and ultimately resigned in protest.

Trump withdrew most US troops but subsequently moved them back. The US presence in Syria has continued since then.

In December, the Pentagon announced that roughly 2,000 troops were deployed to Syria, more than double the number the military had said for years, about 900.

⁉️Is US President Donald Trump with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth intend to withdraw hundreds of American troops from Syria?

⚡️🇸🇾🤝🇹🇷 Syria’s President Ahmed Al-Sharaa to Discuss Defense Pact with Turkey’s Erdogan

Syria's President Ahmed al-Sharaa and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan are expected to discuss a joint defense pact in Ankara, including establishing Turkish airbases in central Syria and training for Syria's new army.

The pact could see Turkey establish new air bases in Syria, use Syrian airspace for military purposes, and take a lead role in training troops in Syria's new army. The deal was not expected to be finalised on Tuesday.

The talks would include setting up two Turkish bases in Syria's vast central desert region, known as the Badiyah.

Reuters sources said that Al-Sharaa would discuss Turkey's "training of the new Syrian army, as well as new areas of deployment and cooperation" with Erdogan, without specifying the deployment locations.

❗️The possible airbase locations were the Palmyra military airport and the Syrian army's T4 base, both in the province of Homs.

🇮🇱🇵🇸⚡Heroic Palestinian Resistance Fighter Targets Israeli Forces in the West Bank:

A Palestinian resistance fighter carried out an operation targeting an Israeli military complex near the Tayasir checkpoint, located in the occupied West Bank near Tubas. The complex, which includes a fortified watchtower and several buildings housing soldiers, is equivalent to a military platoon in size.

Reports confirm that two Israeli soldiers were killed, and around eight others were injured in the attack. The resistance fighter, dressed in a uniform resembling Israeli forces, infiltrated the complex and reached the soldiers' dormitory, where they began shooting from point-blank range. Afterward, the fighter fortified themselves in the military tower, leading to clashes with the occupation soldiers.

The killed Israeli soldiers were identified as Major Ofer Young and Sergeant Tzvika Friedman. The resistance fighter was martyred during the operation.

🇮🇱🇵🇸⚡Palestinian Red Crescent Society: Israeli Forces Prevent Medics from Evacuating Sick Palestinian in Al-Far’a Camp:

Israeli forces have prevented medics from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society from evacuating a sick Palestinian in Al-Far’a camp. This incident occurred during a recent Israeli raid, prompting local authorities in Tubas to announce the suspension of school classes in Tammun and Al-Far’a due to ongoing Israeli military operations.

The latest Israeli incursion comes just days after an Israeli airstrike killed 10 Palestinians in Tammun on Thursday. Additionally, on January 21, the Israeli occupation army launched a military assault on Jenin city and its refugee camp, killing at least 24 Palestinians. The offensive later expanded to Tulkarm, where three more Palestinians were killed.

This escalation in the occupied West Bank follows the January 19 ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement in Gaza, which temporarily halted Israel’s relentless 15-month military campaign. The campaign has resulted in the deaths of over 47,400 Palestinians and left much of the enclave in ruins.

Since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza in October 2023, more than 900 Palestinians have been killed across the West Bank in attacks by Israeli forces and illegal settlers.

🇵🇦🇨🇳🇺🇸⚡Panama Ends Belt and Road Initiative Agreement with China Amid U.S. Pressure:

Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino announced that his country will not renew its contract with China for the Belt and Road Initiative, signaling a shift toward closer ties with the United States.

Following a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Mulino confirmed an agreement allowing Washington access to a border airbase to manage irregular migration.

Mulino also reassured that the Panama Canal remains under Panamanian control, despite growing concerns over U.S. intentions. This comes as Donald Trump, in his second term, has declared that he is “taking back” the canal, raising fears of direct U.S. intervention.

⚡️🇷🇺🤝🇸🇾 Russia Offers Help to Syria to Maintain Military Bases

❗️Russia intends to maintain its influence in Syria, Bloomberg reports. The naval base in Tartus and the airbase in Hmeimim are strategically important facilities that allow Moscow to secure its national interests in the Middle East and Africa.

According to a senior Middle East policy adviser to the Russian government, Russia is willing to help with the reconstruction of Syria as it continues to seek a deal with the country’s new leadership to retain two vital military bases.

“Russia is ready to help Syria in rebuilding its economy,” Vitaly Naumkin said. “We’ll manage to find a compromise,” and the new authorities in Damascus would benefit from maintaining ties with Moscow including potentially in military supplies, he said.

Syrian officials expect “concrete measures such as compensation, reconstruction and recovery” as part of Russian efforts to restore relations.

❗️However, Syria remains starved of funds for reconstruction and inherited $8 billion in debts to Russia from the Assad regime.

On this basis, it is clear that the two sides can come to new mutually beneficial agreements, opening a new page in relations between Moscow and Damascus after the visit of a Russian delegation this week.
