(Talk Life Coach) is an interactive talk session, to look through in life with wonder and exploring our participation with life. This can be initiated through the Art of Inquiry - the creative process of searching for the "why" and "how", and helps to enhances clarity to almost all aspects of our life.
[Mindfulness vs Mindfoolness]
“You can’t stop the waves but you can learn to surf”. Jon Kabat-zinn
What is mindfulness?
The quality or state of being conscious or aware of something. Or a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as practice.
The practice of mindfulness reveals the sense of our attention. Important to realize, that recognized and guided [attention] become a channel to our [intention] (a thing intended; an aim, purpose or plan). Then our inactive capacity to concentrate and crack complications will be activated through practicing mindfulness in action. Nothing special is required to practice mindfulness, as they say, “there is no ordinary moment” that happens in life. Pay attention to every moment and train your minds to expand and enhance its performance beyond you can imagine.
Key words as a daily reminder of Mindfulness vs Mindfoolness
Paying attention
Notice, attend, behave, follow, heed, keep, listen, mark, note, observe, regard, respect, watch, adhere to, pay heed, take heed
Losing attention
Disregard, indifference, laziness, lethargy, neglect, thoughtlessness, ignorance, negligence
Distraction? A distraction is something that takes your attention away from what you're supposed to be doing.
Again, what distracts the mind for not to give enough attention?
Legends from eastern philosophy explains, there are two major causes that distract our mind.
The first one called “aversion”- An aversion is also the person or thing that is the object of such intense dislike or disinclination. A strong dislike may be applicable for certain situations as much as it is a side factor to disrupt the balance of our mind. As you know avoiding things will not be a smart way to deal with the issues that we don’t like. Who knows, what will happen if we give enough attention to issues that we don’t like?
And the second one called “craving” a powerful desire for something. The unlimited and nonstop “MORE” to something. Our passion to achieve something is important for our life success however why all wise people from different corner of the world comment to the contrary and teach us how desire can distract our mind and our life?
I will share with you a striking story of four distracted minds.
Four monks decided to meditate silently without speaking for two weeks. They lit a candle as a symbol of their practice and began. By nightfall on the first day, the candle flickered and then went out.
The first monk said: “Oh, no! The candle is out.”
The second monk said: “We’re not supposed to talk!”
The third monk said: “Why must you two break the silence?”
The fourth monk laughed and said: “Ha! I’m the only one who didn’t speak.”
