Yemen’s Houthis leader, Abdul Malik Al-Houthi, warned on Friday that they would resume their naval operations against Israel in the Red Sea if Israel did not lift its blockade on aid, medicine, and shelters to Gaza within a four-day deadline.

Since November 2023, the movement has carried out over 100 attacks on Israeli shipping, standing with Gaza over Israel’s war on the enclave, disrupting global shipping and forcing firms to reroute to longer and more expensive journeys around Southern Africa.

Al-Houthi stated, “We will give a four-day deadline. This deadline is for the mediators of the Gaza ceasefire for their efforts.”

The World Bank’s 2025 Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment (RDNA) report estimates that Lebanon’s post-war reconstruction and recovery needs amount to approximately $11 billion, with $3 to $5 billion allocated for the public sector, including $1 billion for infrastructure such as energy, transportation, and water and sanitation.

Regarding Gaza, the World Bank estimates that the cost of its reconstruction will exceed $53.2 billion, with $20 billion required in the first three years of reconstruction efforts, which are expected to continue over the next decade.
