The massacres will provoke further insurgency and cause Alawites and other minorities to unite against the terrorists. The excuses and lies are having less and less impact: al-Assad is a political corpse, Iran has been defeated in Syria, Russia is normalizing relations with Damascus, and Hezbollah is rebuilding. Those who are rebelling want peace, security and change for the better. Not a return to the past.

What is happening on the coast is what will happen in the south & northeast if Druze and SDF allow the new government into their areas. They are the ones calling for sectarian war because it is in their nature. There will be no democratic political transition, there will be no decentralization. The only goal of HTS is to establish a Sunni Islamic state in Syria by and for Sunnis. And when I speak of Sunnis I speak of what they consider "good Sunnis."🇸🇾

I don't even add the Islamist donkeys like "History of Khorasan" who accused as bad people those of us who denounced the crimes of HTS two months ago saying that we incited the conflict. Not a word coming from these cockroaches.

Any Western activist who has supported and normalized the new Syrian government deserves at the very least to be spat in the face. They are not so different from those who have provoked today's massacres.

While the fighting against the insurgency on the coast is proving costly HTS started a series of massacres in the Alawite villages of Lattakia. With its narrative of “remnants of the regime” dozens of civilians have been humiliated, tortured and executed in live blood. Not only young men, but women, elderly and children.
The massacres are expected to increase, and this will only escalate the spiral of the conflict. RIP to the martyrs.🇸🇾

Regardless of the outcome, coastal civilians face a campaign of persecution and extermination by the new authorities and their allies. Despite attempts to whitewash the operations by claiming “regime remnants” on all sides, the continue videos expose the true face of HTS security operations. The Alawite population goes out to protest and is shot at. From the Sunni side, the Islamist sector calls for the elimination of minorities. There is no doubt that Syria begins a new stage in its civil war with results difficult to predict.
I fear for the lives of civilians, especially for those I know who are tired of the war. I fear that this time someone will be a victim of what may come.

After several days of escalation on the Syrian coast the insurgency launched a series of operations against terrorist groups in the governorates of Tartous, Latakia, Hama and Homs. These operations began at the same time as the Military Council for the Liberation of Syria” led by Ghiath Dala, high ranking officer in the former SAA 4th Division, was declared with the aim of expelling the terrorists from Syrian territory.
Moreover, the insurgency increased in line with the continuous attacks by the new authorities on the Shiite and Christian minorities, acts that long ago became a sad daily occurrence.
What is known about the operations:
- Nearly the hundred terrorists have been killed during today's fighting.
- The insurgency is composed not only of former SAA members, but Alawite civilians have joined the insurgency after having received weapons (possibly smuggled in).
- There is talk of “liberated zones”. In reality the local police withdrew quickly as they were at a disadvantage against the insurgents in many areas, which have either been occupied or have been deserted. For the time being, there can be no question of secure control of any important positions, including localities.
Meanwhile, a large number of HTS and FSA reinforcements are heading to the coast to eliminate the insurgency and possibly carry out a major crackdown on Alawite civilians. The next few hours will decide whether the insurgent operation succeeds or fails miserably, leading to a further spiral of conflict.🇸🇾
