RT @akila_rad: A great piece from @AgnesCallamard in @ForeignPolicy on the need to move to negotiations on the draft crimes against humanity treaty. Happy to see her highlight the opportunities around gender justice, including to codify gender apartheid. #CaHTreatyNow @EGACampaign
The World needs a Treaty on Crimes Against Humanity Now. This fall the United Nations General Assembly must seize the opportunity to finally open formal negotiations.
The proposed convention would significantly improve the imperfect international justice system. Even a cursory glance at the state of the world and the strain on the international justice system should convince governments to commit to backing the convention. After more than a decade of discussions, they must not let opposing states obfuscate and further delay the process. Now is the time.
