Reminder: The Grace Period requires both KYC and Mainnet migration to be completed by February 28, 2025, to avoid forfeiting most of your Pi other than Pi mined within the rolling window of the last 6 months before your Pi is migrated.

Especially now that Open Network is around the corner, make sure to stay within the deadline!

Essential reminder as we get closer to Open Network:
It is important for Pioneers to safeguard their Pi account and watch out for potential bad actors and activities, scams, and individuals impersonating others. Please be careful of unaffiliated and unauthorized activities, some of which may be associated with fraudulent events and actions meant to defraud our users by their misappropriation and unauthorized use of Pi’s name and trademark.

Neither Pi Network, nor anyone affiliated with Pi Network, has any affiliation whatsoever with any parties organizing or engaging in such illegal or harmful activities to our users or the community. Any such activities which seek to charge users money or make false and misleading promises of monetary rewards or future profits, or MLM are unauthorized by Pi Network—Pi is free to mine and has never been for sale.

The launch of the Open Network brings an important new change—external connectivity—to the Pi blockchain, creating an environment where Pi can connect securely with external systems, expanding opportunities for Pioneers and businesses. Open Network launches on 8:00AM UTC on February 20, 2025. Learn more https://minepi.com/blog/open-network-launch-date/

Pioneers, Open Network will launch at 8am UTC on February 20, 2025! With millions of KYC-verified Pioneers and a thriving utilities-driven ecosystem, Open Network expands available opportunities, which allows Pioneers to connect Pi with external systems for use in real-world applications like never before. Congratulations to the entire community for the collective efforts and work over the past 6 years that led us to this moment! Go to the Pi mining app to read the official Open Network announcement for more details!

We recently announced two updates about the KYC name mismatch and small phone number typo change features. These updates focus on allowing real Pioneers to update their information and potentially progress in the KYC process.

Dive deeper into the significance of these updates and how they can potentially help unblock your KYC application.

Get ready to celebrate Moderator Appreciation Day–every first Friday of February (Feb 7)! Go to the Pi mining app home screen to share gratitude and stories about how moderators have helped you in the past. Mention specific mods if you can or offer a general shoutout. These messages will be compiled in a special tribute video for this year’s Moderator Appreciation Day. Let’s honor the incredible impact of our mods!

Two new updates may help unblock your KYC application if you take action! First, Pioneers who were rejected due to differences in their Pi account name and their real name in ID documents should either spend Pi to update their name or appeal to resubmit their KYC application. Second, Pioneers can edit small typos (up to 2 digits) in their account phone number if it’s not verified. Applicable Pioneers should edit this through their profile settings in the Pi mining app now, especially if they have a tentative KYC status and need to use their correct number to reset their password and verify their account.

Your tentative KYC status or long wait for full KYC results and migration may be caused by your need to complete actions. For example, some Pioneers need to complete additional liveness checks (make sure the video is clear with good lighting). When prompted in the mining app for such additional liveness checks, please take the liveness checks and do not close the popup. Sign the token acknowledgment even if you are still waiting for your KYC results as it is required for anyone to migrate to Mainnet anyway. Others must secure their account as required in the Mainnet Checklist. Check your KYC app and Mainnet Checklist today and take actions when prompted in order to receive your final KYC results and get ready for migration as soon as possible!

Pioneers, go to the Pi mining app home screen and tap “2024 Review” next to Chat to see your 2024 mining summary that highlights your milestones within the network and celebrates your achievements over the past year!

Read more about how the Ecosystem Interface is expanding to incorporate Mainnet apps, continuing Pi’s mission of empowering Pioneers and developers with new utilities and opportunities! https://minepi.com/blog/welcoming-mainnet-apps/

As part of preparing for Open Network in Q1 2025, Pi Network made Mainnet Pi apps accessible through the Ecosystem Interface on the Pi Browser. An initial 20 Pi apps are included, with more apps to come in the future. Pioneers can explore these Mainnet Pi apps, but exercise caution and use them at your own risk because they are not developed or endorsed by Pi Network. Developers should get their Pi apps in shape and apply to be included in the interface through the Pi Dev Portal. Go to the Pi app home screen to learn more.

Pioneers, we’ve reached over 18 million KYC’d and over 8 million Mainnet migrated Pioneers! Thanks to recent major speed upgrades, KYC applications and Mainnet migrations are processed faster than ever, i.e. nearly 200,000 Pioneers migrated in the last day. This means Open Network can launch as soon as possible in Q1 2025 while reducing the gap between KYC’ed and Mainnet migrated Pioneers for inclusivity and ecosystem stability at Open Network.

Go to the Pi app home screen to read the full update on Open Network timing and conditions, what you can do in the meantime, and an associated update to the Grace Period deadlines!

Safety Reminder! Remember to only use your Pi Wallet in the Pi Browser at exactly wallet.PiNet.com. Ensure you're in the correct Pi Wallet, not any fake one, to safeguard your Pi. The authentic Pi Wallet is also visually identified by a purple color in the navigation bar of the Pi Browser with a Pi logo featuring the Core Team apps logo.
