Well, I was thinking of going with my daughters back home in Dahiyeh or maybe to our newly-built home in Khiam which took us 8 years to finish. I then thought about whether it would be safe for us native humans of Muslim faith to go there, especially ones who would definitely be followed and surveilled by an Israeli Zionist drone that targets civilian cars. I then remembered that the Israelis already took down my Dahiyeh home with US-made munition and they burnt down the Khiam one with white phosphorus with Canadian (and other western) tax payers' money. This mental calculation is happening in Beirut, Lebanon in 2024 as the world watches in silence after a 1 year and 2 months continuous genocide in #Gaza too.
But then I found my daughters curled up with their pet cat in the corner trying to calm one another down because Israel was dropping bunker buster bombs 1 km away from our "refuge" house killing other Lebanese people's Muslim young daughters.

Deputy speaker of Lebanon's parliament, Elias Bou Saab, confirmed to #AlMayadeen that a ceasefire in Lebanon is expected to be announced in the next few hours or days, but emphasized that caution is necessary, given past experiences with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Bou Saab added that information received from the #US envoy indicated that the last pending issue had been resolved. As for the committee overseeing the implementation of UNSC Resolution 1701, the former minister said it includes the US and France, though he noted it could potentially be expanded.

However, he clarified that this committee's role is strictly limited to the framework of UNSC #Resolution1701 and would not be authorized to act beyond its provisions. Bou Saab reaffirmed that the agreement, once finalized, would lead to the full withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces to the Blue Line and the cessation of aggression and hostilities.

Yet, #BouSaab pointed out that no guarantees of freedom of movement for any party have been offered so far. Despite this, he noted that any achievement of a ceasefire would be welcomed by all Lebanese parties.

Save the Children reported that since October 6, 2024, children in northern Gaza have been entirely cut off from essential supplies of food, water, and medicine due to the ongoing Israeli siege.

“The situation in northern Gaza is not fit for human survival and yet we know there are about 130,000 children under 10 trapped in those conditions, not to mention the thousands of older children and their families,” said Jeremy Stoner, the charity’s regional director.

He emphasized the dire need for humanitarian aid, stating, “Humanitarian aid to Gaza has hit an all-time low with the appalling situation in northern Gaza the tip of a terrible iceberg. Safe humanitarian access must be granted immediately to allow food, water, winter supplies, and medical assistance to reach those who are trapped in the death zone in the north.”

Camp Foran is a base for ground forces' deployment and readiness in the Syrian direction.

The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon announced the successful targeting of an Israeli unit that had fortified itself in a house on the southern outskirts of Al-Bayada, South Lebanon, following the Israeli forces' withdrawal from the town after suffering heavy losses the previous day.
