To date, the situation has developed that we have not ratified the protocol of the Human Rights Convention, which enshrines the abolition of the death penalty, that is, we have only declared that we are acceding to it. The very rule of abolition of capital punishment is regulated precisely by this Convention and Protocol No. 6 to it, to which we once acceded, but in October 2022 Russia withdrew from it.
