World Bank Approves $800 Million in Concessional Loans for Uzbekistan
The World Bank Board of Directors has approved a financial package of $800 million in concessional loans to support Uzbekistan’s reform program aimed at accelerating the country’s transition to an inclusive and sustainable market economy.
“These funds will be provided to the government at lower interest rates and with longer maturities compared to borrowing options available in international financial markets. This will help Uzbekistan save significant financial resources that can be used to address urgent socio-economic issues,” the bank said in a press release.
