As he took his last breath, his eyes met mine, taking in the tears steaming down my face, my mouth moving to mumble a thousand apologies and yet making no sound at all. "It's alright," he said, his voice choked from blood. "It's okay." Those were his last words.

I buried my face in his chest, wishing I could do something, wishing the ambulance would get here already. But it was too late... He was dead, i had killed him. For the good of the world.
But as I looked at him, at the knife driven into his midsection, I didn't see anything good. I only saw pain. It was all around me, swirling and writhing within me, suffocating me. "sorry... Thankyou, thankyou for being the one in my life. And it's not your fault for becaming a devil... But you can't, falling in love with a human.. Sorry.." i said with my trembling bodies.

I realized I had taken the life of the one thing that'd made my life worth living. Maybe I saved the world. But my world was destroyed. My purpose.. And my love, was destroyed.
