Badly screwed up a repair on my T430, should I be concerned?

You know what screw hole right next to the ram slot on the bottom of a T430? When I took my laptop apart to replace the heatsink+fan, I think I put in the wrong length screw. Now whenever there is a screw in that hole, the laptop will not fully post. The light will turn on, the fan will briefly spin, and then it immediately shuts off. But with the screw out of the hole...it ominously works just fine. I have a replacement motherboard just in case, but I'd rather keep it in it's box unless I have no choice. is there any doctoring I could do to the motherboard I have right now? How long would it be until my motherboard shorts out or something?

Help to diagnose temperature problem on X201i?

Hi all, so I have an old X201i (bought 2011) and it's running ok but the bottom side near the exhaust fan (see image below) is getting quite hot even at idle, while the rest of the laptop seems 'normal' temperature. Checked actual temperature readings using HW MONITOR (attached) with very few apps running. Any ideas on what the real source of the problem is, and what to clean/replace if opened up? Thanks in advance.

X1E Gen2 oled with I9 getting 2 1/2 hours battery life - suggestions to improve?

I know they advertise the X1E as getting better than a full work day of battery life on Win10 Pro but I am not seeing it. Maybe if screen brightness is set to 50% but I work in a bright environment and need the screen cranked close to or at max 400 nits.

Anyone seeing success with improving battery life with this configuration?

Heres my typical setup:
X1E Gen2 with I9 cpu and OLED
32 gig of ram
80-100% display brightness
Wifi and bluetooth on
