Our developers are constantly working to improve the platform, and today, we are happy to announce the addition of new features!

Notification centre

One of the updates we made to ensure you don't miss any notifications is a small bell in the upper right corner. This is a new feature that combines all notifications related to Z-Alerts, book requests, comments on booklists, new books, and more.

Auto-generated avatars

Recently, we announced improvements to the User Profile, such as avatars. For those who haven't uploaded an avatar yet, we've created automatically generated avatars that will make your profile page more visually appealing.


Have you seen who liked your comment?

The likes that appear under your comments can be a helpful way to connect with like-minded people. You can discover new books and even booklists through their profiles.

From now on, if someone likes your comment about a book or a booklist, you'll be able to see who it was. For now, you'll only see seven most recent users who liked your comments. Later, you'll be able to check the full list. You can also follow each other's booklists if they match your interests.


Desktop Application Update (v2.3.0)

Finally, we are excited to announce that the latest updates for the Desktop Application (version 2.3.0) are now available for Windows and Linux (Fedora, Debian/Ubuntu and others Linux distributions).

In this version, we have fixed a number of issues, including the Paste function in the right-click menu, changing interface language, opening books in the reader, donations through the Alipay method, and other bugs. Additionally, to prevent you from accidentally closing the application, we have added a warning window. So, don't wait any longer and get the updated version!

Besides all the significant updates we've already made, we'd like to inform you about a minor adjustment we've introduced to enhance your browsing experience and make our website more user-friendly. That is to enlarge the buttons under the books. Now they are more attractive and noteworthy.

Furthermore, we want to emphasize the importance of being aware of scam websites and using only official ones!

🟠 Downloads for Unregistered Users

After 2 years, we have restored the ability for guests to download 5 books. Please note that the download limits are based on your IP address. It's common for internet providers to use shared IPs for multiple devices, so the download limit may also be shared between those devices. If this is the case, the download limit may already have been spent for the IP address you're using

We'd like to point out that this function not only allows everyone to download books without registering or logging in, but also helps to distinguish our website from scam sites


⏳Improved search engine

Our development team works hard every day to improve the use of the website, and today we'd like to speak about the updates on search engine:

- By clicking on the author's name on a search result's page, you can find other books by the same author. The improvement is that the search by author with initials now works more accurately;

- From now on, you can search for books+format without setting a filter, for example, Computer Science pdf. Please note that you can only use one format;

- The possibility of searching by using several fields. The fields that can be recognized are title, author and publisher. For example, title:fashion author:tierney;

- Words can be excluded from a search query by adding a minus sign before the words, for example: c++ -beginner -crash -guide -Stroustrup. Moreover, the words can be excluded from all fields: "Stroustrup" is an author, so in the search results there will be only books where he is not mentioned as the author.

Dear readers,

Since most of our team is from post-Soviet states, we would like to honor the creator of the Flibusta project, Stiver. Flibusta is a free online library that provides access to Russian-language literature, allowing free exchange of literature among users.

On October 20, 2024, after a month of being treated for glioblastoma, which was unfortunately not curable, Stiver passed away through euthanasia.

Today we would like to honor the memory of Stiver, who shared the same goal of providing free access to knowledge. Same as Flibusta, Z-Library was created in 2009 with the mission of giving everyone the opportunity to read and learn, regardless of their financial status. This man was able to bring his idea to life and create a place where the words and thoughts captured in books could circulate freely.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of a man who has been a true asset to the book world. His efforts have made knowledge available to all, helping countless people broaden their horizons and discover new worlds of inspiration.

His memory will live on in our hearts as a symbol of the endless possibilities of the written word, a world that is truly open to all. We must continue his work of spreading knowledge and culture, and may his good deeds inspire us all.

Rest in peace, Stiver. Your contribution to making the world a better place through access to knowledge is immeasurable!

New version of Desktop App 🌈

In our most recent post, we announced the availability of the app for Windows and Linux. We are happy to inform you that the new MacOS version is also available.
* Please note, the newest version compatible with M1 and later processors. In case you have Intel, you don’t need to update application. The version for Intel would be available later.

Separated buttons to Read and Download 🔄

As we are trying to make the library more convenient, we have decided to divide the read and download buttons. So, from now on, you do not need to look for hidden buttons as they are all visible now. Have you noticed the change?

Access issues ✅

As most of you already know, under repeated conditions, our domains are being blocked. So, we'd like to remind you that you can get access to available links through our magic email. Just send any email from your inbox to blackbox@1delivery.re and you will receive access links within 3-5 minutes in an auto-generated email. Easy as that!

We are delighted to announce that our fall fundraising campaign officially started on September 15th. We greatly appreciate any support you can give us during this time. Please participate in fundraising 🫶

As you may know, many of our domains were blocked in November 2022, and the inner infrastructure of the project suffered some substantial damage. At the moment, Z-Library is still going through difficult times in all 14 years of its existence. We are doing everything possible to provide free access to knowledge.

Also, we'd like to remind you about recently added essential features:

🔸 Enabled the Online Reader for all users (for unauthorized in the file preview mode);
🔸 Introduced dark and extra-dark themes for the Reader, with the added feature of saving the reading position;
🔸 Implemented the function to appreciate users' comments with likes;
🔸 Overhauled the desktop application's interface to improve usability.;
🔸 Released a new version for Android application, with bug fixes and enhanced connection stability;
🔸 Revamped the user profile: introduced public profiles, added the ability to upload an avatar, change the profile cover, fill in information about yourself;
🔸 Redesigned Booklist page, website footer, menu and profile settings;
🔸 And much more.

The Z-Library team is online! Today, we have exciting news to share with you about the latest updates on our website. So, let's get started:

Online Reader 🤓
Just recently, we introduced an online reader that lets you to read any books without downloading them. Since then, the reader has undergone significant changes and has become something unique and really convenient. Following our core values of making knowledge accessible to everyone, we are thrilled to announce that we have made our online reader available to all users. This means that Basic users will be able to read the books, just like Premium users. Even our Guests will now have the opportunity to enjoy the book previews. We hope that this will make it easier for most of our users to read any book they like.

Redesigned User Profile and Menu ⚙️
We’re continuing on working to improve and enhance the functionality of User Profile. Now, your Profile is in a separate location, which you can find in the upper right-hand corner of the page. In your profile you would be able to upload avatar, manage your status, interests, settings, view your booklists, read comments, and more.
Not only has the Profile been updated, but the Menu has also been transformed. It now looks smoother and more appealing. Have you noticed all the changes yet?


To conclude, we want to remind you to be cautious of fraudulent websites. We receive many reports daily about people falling victim to their schemes. Please remember that our books are available for free reading and download!
