MUET WRITING FORMAT 2021 - TIPS
QUESTION 1
Based on my observation, model questions in all the books I have looked at all require candidates to reply to an INFORMAL email rather a formal one.
This is a hint for candidates to start preparing in how to write INFORMALLY. I presume marks would be affected if an email which is supposed to be in informal tone is written in formal tone.
It has come to my attention that a majority of our young generation are not used to writing informal emails, rather informal text messages which do not use full sentences. Our full sentences usually only come out when we make formal texts. So, 2021 candidates, I suggest you get yourselves prepared for both formal and informal. Although informal sounds easy because of the 'informal' nature; yet, don't take it lightly, so, study!
Study informal:
An example of a phrase used in a letter/email to decline an invitation:
"I’m terribly sorry. I have other plans." - informal ✅
"Unfortunately, I can't make it on Thursday. Could we reschedule?" - formal❌
