◽️ Why this moot?
After the full-scale invasion and everyone finally recognizing Elon Musk's dumbness after his Twitter purchase, the topic of freedom of expression in social media finally became a hot one for many people. If you ever wanted to debunk the myths on content moderation, and understand how social media and freedom of expression therein work, come join the boat on the way to Oxford.
◽️ What is the Price Media Law Moot Court Competition?
Price Moot has always been about digital rights at large. You will argue the case in the fictional Universal Court of Human Rights based on the ICCPR interpretation and the application of regional human rights bodies case-law.
◽️ Where and when the moot is held?
First, you have to advance through the regional rounds in Paris, covering the entire Europe, in early February. Then, if you advance, you will open the majestic world of Oxford.
◽️ How is the selection process built?
Please, send your CVs by 24:00 on 8 October (this Sunday) at max.dvorovy@gmail.com and daughter.wind@gmail.com.. On 9 October, you will get the written assignment and one week to complete it. After that, we will hold the pleadings to determine the team composition.
◽️ What is the case about?
This year's case concerns the liability for AI-generated speech, which allegedly led to a terrorist attack. The case can be accessed here.
◽️ Who are the coaches?
Tetiana Avdieieva and Maksym Dvorovyi work for Digital Security Lab Ukraine, where they engage in drafting Ukrainian legislation in the spheres of media, platforms' regulation, and AI, and advocating more IHRL and IHL-compliant policies for online platforms in response to armed conflicts. Both are Price alumni and coached teams to high results in various moots, such as Price, EHRMCC, and Telders.
