Let me share what may be known to everyone already. This is about memorizing Qur'an. I never did it consistently as scholars suggest, but rather ad-hoc (translate the verse, understand it, look at its grammatical structure and then repeat few times and then move to the next). Unless I dismantled its grammatical structure, I found it difficult to remember. This does not work well with children or non-native speakers.
Qur'an has its blessings and miracles. It gives barakah (blessing) to your time and also fine tunes your memory. Scientifically (not sure this was mentioned in any literature , but can assure you from scientific background I have) the nasal sound (similar to humming) will affect your Vagus Nerve ( read below from Claude AI, what this stimulation leads to!) I am not even touching the fact that the nasal sound differs with different proceeding letters and has its duration. Each verse must be recited with one inhalation and a very long exhalation and the rules within the sentences will prolong it. If you search about the biochemistry of lung oxygenation, you will see that those extended exhalations oxygenate your blood better.
Claude AI says :
When the vagus nerve is stimulated by humming, several interesting physiological effects can occur:
Relaxation response: Humming can activate the parasympathetic nervous system via the vagus nerve, promoting a state of relaxation and calmness.
Heart rate variability: Vagus nerve stimulation through humming may increase heart rate variability, which is associated with better stress resilience and overall health.
Nitric oxide production: Humming has been shown to increase nitric oxide production in the paranasal sinuses. Nitric oxide is a vasodilator that can improve blood flow and oxygen uptake.
Respiratory regulation: The vagus nerve plays a role in respiratory control. Humming may help regulate breathing patterns, potentially leading to more efficient oxygen exchange.
Inflammation reduction: Vagus nerve stimulation has anti-inflammatory effects, which could be beneficial for various health conditions.
Improved digestion: The vagus nerve is involved in digestive processes. Stimulating it through humming might enhance digestion and gut motility.
Potential mood enhancement: Due to its connections with the brain, vagus nerve stimulation may have positive effects on mood and emotional regulation.
If you read it all the way through, you can marvel at the miracles bestowed upon us even if you do not recite the Qur'an.
