Families of those killed in a French air strike on a wedding in the central Malian village of Bounti have called for the prosecution of the military personnel involved in the operation, which the United Nations has concluded could amount to a war crime.
According to a UN report, at least 19 civilians were killed at the wedding. Three suspected fighters were also killed. France's military has rejected the findings of the report and denied that a wedding had taken place that day. This week, the French also reiterated their claim that they had killed 30 "militia fighters" in the January attack.
