Jóʀ: Stallion or Nightmare, Above or Below, Mount of Óðinn or Horse of Hel, this rune speaks of joinings and of partnerships, of that which like steed or fylgja is both a part of and apart from the hero on his quest.

While Reið may see the hero beginning his journey ranging the whole world round, this further iteration in the rune circle can send the seeker venturing higher and farther ranging from the heavens to the underworld itself.

Knowledge is sought by experience here, by going forth to see for oneself, hence this mystery is one not only of intrepidity - but of trust.

The Moon is the Gateway of Dream and Inspiration - also Illusion and Madness. The Moon's power is the power of the Imagination, which can be either a bridge to previously inconceivable Truth or a plunge into the abyss of delusion. In both of these reflexions, the Moon's very cycle of surreal fluxion makes its tides a vivifying force behind and through the world of Nature and of Life.

"To men is imparted a soul emanated from those eternal fires you call stars and luminaries which, round and spherical, quickened by divine spirits, perform their revolutions and perambulate their orbits with an admirable celerity."

You can reach that Power through *Proto-, as through a veil or layer of mist or smoke. You can also reach that power much more directly through names in Old Norse. I won't pretend to know why, but I can tell you (and this should be the number one criterion it should go without saying) that IT WORKS. Again, so does calling everything *-az instead of -ʀ, but one of these *works MUCH better.*

Now we get to an interesting point, that even though some of these runes like Fé will see us on solid ground for a project like this, others (particularly in Hagallsætt) are much trickier to call an Old Norse name *within the limitations of mere scholarship* without eventually having to make a choice that must be considered by the materialists to be quite arbitrary (perhaps even as arbitrary as materialists bothering with such a topic).

This is where good old fashioned divination and spirit communication must lead our way: for those of us, that is, for whom these things must be living rather than wholly classifiable.

You can have very real contact with the runes themselves (on some level) through the variously contended theories for more ancient names, even those that are wrong - if you yourself provide the 'right'. This is exactly how I first pathworked the Elder Fuþark over ten years ago, and while there is always so much more to learn from the runes it was absolutely a life-changeingly powerful initiation to live through.

However.

I challenge you, those doomed to take up the runes, to weigh and to test whether there is a better way of working.

This isn't the part where I describe Elder Fuþark as being a 'better' rune row than English Fuþork: I've had it from Óðinn himself that far more important than the 'choice' between them (at least for me?) is to simply commit and stick through learning whichever system was begun.

What I mean is that in working the Elder Fuþark, there is good reason for my present practice of using Old Norse names: you can simply tell the difference in clarity and Power called.

It may be noted that even when describing runes of the Elder Fuþark I'll tend to use names in Old Norse rather than either attested or even (educated but) hypothetical Proto-Norse or Proto-Germanic (Fé instead of *Fehu, etc). Those more formally educated in the (current) academic understanding may be struck by the anachronism of this, and I'm always interested in the (present state of the) archaeology, but ultimately I'm not out to be most 'academically correct' (explicitly material facts appreciable to the uninitiated) so much as I am to truly Know the Runes through magick and divination (implicitly fathomed realities made known to those seeking more deeply).

I won't tell you that using hypothetical reconstructions (impressively educated guesses) of Proto-Germanic won't get you results with the runes, if you're made of the right stuff (most painfully short abbreviation of Rígsþula yet?).

Bjǫrk, of Dark and Light aspect, both Jǫrð's and Freyja's rune, sings of spirit in Nature in birch-tree form. Natural nvmen, this sprightly sprout of the North is first to return in the forest fire's wake. Rejuvenation, fertility, and growth through Nature's seasons are the fair gifts of this mystery.

Feminine power of Life, raw and sometimes terrifying strength of Mother Nature - yet also the tutelage leading to wisdom, self improvement, and other less immediately tangible buddings of Growth.

Śáktic, the mysterious Force behind Form in Nature, beautifully living and breathing union of physical and spiritual.

"I indignantly answered, 'Do you call light what we men call the worst darkness? Do you call day night?'

"To this my soul spoke a word that roused my anger, 'My light is not of this world.'

"I cried, 'I know of no other world!'

"The soul answered, 'Should it not exist because you know nothing of it?'"

My impression on this reading was that it was very and I mean very uncomfortable, not in a bad sense but more so it caught me unawares of how accurate it’d be. I’m not often read easily and I don’t often expect much to my readings as they are strongly conflicting often times. It is why in my readings I need to spend more time introspecting to truly understand the cards. It actually opened me up after the reading in mind and in some ways attuned to what currently is.

Maybe it is because my subconscious has been asleep for a bit due to external issues causing me to not have time to meditate or the energy to even push for it. Nevertheless, this reading was necessary and I think I can better ascertain what needs to be done to find my fate line.

Thanks so much much for the great Wyrdcasting review! As always with this particular rune reading, the personal insights gained will continue to pay dividends through years and years to come.

In the very unlikely case that any existing followers of this channel don't already know of Traditional Apothecary, she's a genuine and generous Southron lady who takes great care with her own hands to make clean and wonderful (all natural!) products for us hygiene-minded Volk.

This is one of my favourites, both in terms of fresh forest scent and the immediate clean and cool feeling that you're taking good care of your facial hair and skin.

I sought out the Wyrdcasting and Celtic Cross in order to answer some questions and gain some insight before making one of the most significant decisions of my life.  The information was spot on in many ways, and provided a sense of clarity in areas that were previously murky.  My biggest takeaway is the additional insight that has been gained and the confidence I now feel when preparing to take a rather large leap into the future.  I highly recommend this service to anyone who may be approaching a particularly significant crossroads in life.

I'm so happy that you've gotten the insight you needed! When you need to truly Know who someone is even on every hidden level, I know of nothing quite like the Wyrdcasting.

(The Celtic Cross, of course, is also an excellent choice that's very versatile)

It's taken some serious time and study in order to do properly, but I'm delighted to say that I've delved into and activated/'opened' the new PGM deck and am ready to offer quality divinations with it to all of you.

The deity cards were especially interesting to activate in this case, turning into a somewhat diplomatic series of exchanges (some with personages quite familiar, some decidedly not) leading to a very 'alive' sliver of presence within the physical cards reminding me of what it's like to be in the presence of even more expertly activated Ægyptian statuary.

All in all, the divinations available with this deck are particularly interesting in their uniquely insightful context: that of the mysterious yet highly lucid, and VERY magickal, Hellenistic Αιών.

Readings with the PGM tarot will run at 11% off through the summer solstice. I and the gods will answer, so long as you Question.

"The name is the particular designation of that one to whom the constituents of the person who bore it belong. Terrestrial birth brings them together in an individual, death dissociates them. Existence between birth and death is a loop or knot in the cord of destiny and what determines the loop or knot determines the name. But death doesn't cut the cord."

"Once there was an Indian who became a Christian. He became a very good Christian; he went to church, and he didn't smoke or drink, and he was good to everyone. He was a very good man. Then he died. First he went to the Indian hereafter, but they wouldn't take him because he was a Christian. Then he went to the Christian heaven, but they wouldn't let him in - because he was an Indian. Then he went to the Christian hell, but they wouldn't admit him there either, because he was so good. So he came alive again, and he went to the Buffalo Dance and the other dances and taught his children to do the same thing."

I've really enjoyed admiring this PGM tarot recently gifted by my lovely wife. It'll take some time activating enough of this deck's potential to offer divinations with it to all of you, but when the time comes I'll certainly celebrate with a good sale!

In the meantime my offer of a free 3 rune cast with the purchase of any other divination still stands through the end of the month, so please do take advantage of that if you intend to. Until later!

The different orderings of the rune row are especially interesting in light of the 'initiatory journey' of a given pathworking through that row, a journey of paths and stations laid out in the sequence of the runes.

Many will know of the 24-rune Elder Fuþark being divided into three Ættir (Freysætt, Hagalsætt, Týsætt), and these 'eights' do have their own broader relevance in the Fuþark system. I'm reminded of the sustaining roots, the tough bole, and the glorious crown of wisdom's Tree.

However, from rune to rune within and between the Ættir the sequencing contains relationships important in the training of the genuinely runewise even when not immediately obvious in the 'randomized' casting of a runic divination. How marked is the contrast observed when after working through ᚦ the student moves to ᚨ; how moving can be the passing through of ᛁ to ᛃ!

As with the procession of trumps in a well-built tarot deck, the sequence of a rune row illustrates a teaching system's proven path towards the ancient wisdom.

Aion conducted an ancestral divination for me that brought about a deeper understanding of who my ancestors were. Each rune was explained to me in detail and how it relates to my family and me. The divination also answered questions that I may have had in regards to dealing with future endeavors.
I felt no pressure to share things I was not comfortable with, nor was I overwhelmed with any interpretations.
Highly recommend especially if you you are new to the runes.
